My friend Cat just posted the simplest reminder.. & it was the one little quote, amongst hundreds I’ve read recently- that actually nudged something..
Be a basic bitch.. 😂 Cat Sinton thanks gorge 🫶🏼😂
- basically- make little SIMPLE choices that add up.. drink some water, walk outside, take a pause with a brew, be IN nature, move your body, call a friend, listen to your favourite song…
Sometimes when it feels like I’m completely buried by the weight of life, chronic pain, motherhood… these little things are the most powerful tools that can shift me from paralysis to having that spark again..
Yeatrtday, a wave of deep sadness suddenly washed over me, completely out of the blue, just smacked me in the stomach.. & I knew I didn’t want to sit with it, I knew if I put a really good song on I could sing to, or dance a little, it would shift me out of it.. but there was a resistance- like something was saying ‘noo it’s much more comfy down here in the dark, just hide away, sink into victim mode’ - I have no fu***ng idea why my brain does this to me- it’s like it doesn’t want to get better sometimes- but yesterday, I put on the song- and I belted it out in the car, & I felt lighter, then when I got home the weight came back.. so I put on a song I could boogie to in the kitchen.. & I felt lighter.. and after a wit of a wiggle - I felt SO much better..
Then I spent time with one of my favourite humans and her new puppy- and I left feeling brand fu***ng NEW!
& last week, i felt ridiculously tired and in pain, & i almost canceled going to my friends birthday celebrations at whitmore lake- but i went anyway and had the BEST time, & even though i crashed afterwards, i didn’t sink into darkness, my mind stayed light while my body rested…
So this is a gentle reminder to lean into the light when you can.. do the little things that make you feel lighter, make small ‘good’ choices & they all add up…
Thanks Cat for sharing your light you beautiful goddess.
& thank you to HOME BIRD for this divine morning of nourishment- I cannot wait to come back!!
Big love, Lou 🪶🙏🏽🌹
