💚 Diabetes Care at Ancora – A Fresh Approach

We are delighted to be relaunching and strengthening our diabetes service at Ancora Medical Practice.

Led by Dr Joy and Dr Anam, we have invested in our diabetes team, providing additional training and increasing capacity so that we can offer more appointments and improved access to diabetes care.

✔️ Our diabetes protocols have been fully reviewed and updated in line with current NICE guidance and best practice.

✔️ Our nurses are undertaking further specialist diabetes training and will attend regular meetings with the hospital diabetes team, helping us keep our service up to date and well connected with specialist care.

✔️ Our Healthcare Assistants have undergone competency assessments and additional training to strengthen the support they provide.

✔️ We are improving the way diabetes appointments are booked, helping patients see the right member of our team at the right time.

Diabetes care isn't the responsibility of just one clinician. At Ancora, we are developing a whole-team approach, bringing together our GPs, nurses, Healthcare Assistants and administrative team.

Our aim is to provide accessible, proactive and high-quality diabetes care, helping our patients manage their diabetes well and reduce the risk of future complications.

❗️Protect Your Child This Winter - NHS Nasal Flu Vaccination Available❗️

As the Vaccination Lead here at Ancora Medical Practice, If your child is registered at this practice, is aged 2 to 3 and was born between 1 September 2022 and 31st August 2024 - they are eligible to get their Nasal Flu Vaccination here at the practice and I would personally encourage you to bring your child in for their FREE NHS nasal flu vaccination.

Flu can be particularly unpleasant for young children and, in some cases, can make them seriously unwell. Children can also easily spread flu to parents, grandparents, siblings, and other vulnerable family members.

The nasal flu vaccine is quick, simple, painless, and provides valuable protection for your child during the winter months.

✅ Quick and needle-free nasal spray

We are pleased to say that Ancora now has water supply and our Ashby Road and Detuyll Street surgeries are open as usual.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding. 🙏 💚

‼️IMPORTANT - SURGERY CLOSED TODAY ‼️
UPDATE - Our Detuyll Street surgery is now open to patients, at this time we do not have any up dates for our Ashby Road surgery, Ashby still remains closed to patients.

Due to the ongoing water supply issues we currently have no water at the Ashby Road surgery.
Due to this, we have had to close the Ashby Road surgery. Patients with appointments at Ashby Road will be contacted.
