Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally and represents approximately a quarter of all cancers that occur in women every year.

With 1 in 6 cancer deaths among women worldwide, breast cancer is also the leading cause of cancer deaths among women globally.

Breast cancer is highly curable if detected in its early stages and adequate treatment is provided.

We have CAMHS Drop in sessions coming up at the following Best Start Family Hubs.

Willington - Wednesday 16 September 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am
Durham - Tuesday 22 September 2026, 9.30am 11.30am
Bishop Auckland - Tuesday 6 October 2026, 1pm to 3pm
Ferryhill - Friday 9 October 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am
Chester le Street - Wednesday 14 October 2026, 12.30pm to 2.30pm

These sessions may be useful if your child is struggling with:

🎈low confidence and self esteem
🎈low mood
🎈worrying and anxious feelings

The CAMHS worker will not be able to give any updates on open cases and ongoing CAMHS work during these sessions. Any questions like this should be directed to the CAMHS team supporting your child.

You can get tests and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and advice about contraception. Some clinics provide additional services too.

Use the ABCDE list to help check existing or new moles and spot the warning signs of skin cancer.

If you spot any changes that you think could be cancer, contact your GP.

Su***de prevention workshops can help carers by increasing their confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to support someone who may be at risk. While they do not train carers to become mental health professionals, they can make it easier to recognize warning signs, respond appropriately, and connect someone with professional help.
