💚 World Mental Health Day 10th October 2026

Today is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing.

Mental health affects us all, and taking a moment to check in with ourselves, as well as friends, family, neighbours and colleagues, can make a real difference.

If you're finding things difficult, or are concerned about someone else, remember that support is available.

Find information, advice and support from the Mental Health Foundation: 🔗 https://mentalhealth.org.uk/explore-mental-health/get-help

By talking openly, showing understanding and supporting one another, we can help break down stigma and create a more compassionate community.

Good morning
Hope you are well
We have been busy sending out invites this week to patients to self book for flu appointments, if you haven’t received a message yet please do not call, we will be sending out more over the coming weeks.
The text will ask you to self book using the link provided - it is safe to do so.
By self booking and attending the appointment you are providing consent for the clinician to administer the vaccines. Please do not call the practice if there are no appointments showing, more will be added and further texts sent, your cooperation with this would be appreciated.
Whilst you can have your vaccine elsewhere we would appreciate your support in booking an appointment with us as the funding we receive helps pay for our daily minor conditions clinic, if you book an appointment but then can’t make it please cancel it so someone else can use that appointment.
Please be aware that Covid vaccines are being allocated to practices so it may be that we don’t have any when you attend for your flu appointment, however we are working with the suppliers to secure vaccines.
For information about the vaccinations and any side effects please go to https://www.nhs.uk

Thanks

We experience a lot more patients failing to attend appointments when the weather is hot, there were 12 missed yesterday.

It’s so easy to cancel, call us on 2396687 and use the cancel appointment option.

Hope you’re all well..
Here’s the top 5 tips on staying safe in the hot weather:-
- keep hydrated, drink water regularly and avoid excessive alcohol
- keep your home cool by closing blinds and curtains and open windows overnight or early morning when the temperature is lower.
- avoid the midday heat and try and stay indoors or in the shade between 11am and 4pm
- please check on vulnerable neighbours and ask them if they are drinking enough or need help with their shopping
- know the warning signs of heat illness: confusion, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, body temp of over 50 and hot, dry skin. Seek urgent help if you or someone develops these symptoms.

Help each other to stay safe 🙂

Please note that the industrial action within the NHS by resident doctors has commenced this morning and will end at 7am on Friday 19th June.

Please continue to attend appointments unless you have been contacted and advised that yours has been postponed.
