Are you curious about what functional testing can tell you about your health status?

There’s more to understanding your health than looking at individual symptoms.

With a range of functional testing options available, we can explore different aspects of your health, from gut function and hormone patterns to genetic influences on nutrition.

The key is understanding which tests may be relevant to 'you' and how the results fit alongside your symptoms, health history and lifestyle.

Because your health is individual, your approach should be too.

For example:

DNA Profile: Explore how your genes may influence your nutritional needs and how your body responds to different lifestyle factors.

Gut Function: A closer look at your digestive health and the factors that may influence how well your gut functions.

Women's Comprehensive Hormone Panel: Gain further insight into hormone patterns and explore how they may relate to your symptoms and wellbeing.

Food Intolerance Testing: Are you reacting to the contents of your diet? Find out with this simple finger-prick blood test.

What is functional testing, and how can it help you understand your health?

Ever wondered why you're experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, digestive problems, hair loss or low energy, but you're still struggling to find answers?

Functional testing can provide additional insight into how your body is functioning and help identify areas that may need further investigation.

Depending on your symptoms and health history, testing may help explore:

🔬 Nutrient status: are you getting or absorbing the nutrients your body needs?

🔬 Hormonal health: could changes in hormone levels be contributing to your symptoms?

🔬 Gut health: are there imbalances or digestive issues worth investigating?

🔬 Metabolic and thyroid function: could these be playing a role in how you feel?

The key is choosing the right tests for the individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Testing is one piece of the puzzle.
When combined with your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle, results can help inform a more personalised approach to your health.

Curious about which tests might be appropriate for you? Get in touch to find out more about the testing options available.

Each one is great for helping to identify underlying factors that may be in play as far as your health, fitness or performance are concerned. The more we understand about what's going on, the sooner we can create a programme that will address the problem at the root cause.

Good health isn't about taking another supplement or fixing a symptom. It's about looking for the physiological triggers that need to be addressed if you really want long-term improvement.

Do you have a health issue that's been holding you back?

One of the simplest things you can do for your health is to step outside in the morning.

Exposure to natural daylight early in the day helps regulate your circadian rhythm, your body’s internal clock.

This plays an important role in:

🌿 Supporting healthy sleep wake cycles

🌿 Daytime alertness

🌿 Supporting mood and wellbeing

🌿 Helping your body maintain a consistent daily rhythm

Try spending 10 - 20 minutes outdoors in the morning, ideally within the first 30 minutes to an hour.

Even on grey cloudy days, outdoor daylight is beneficial.

And you don’t need to be barefoot, it’s the natural daylight that matters.

Stand at the back door or out on the garden with your breakfast or morning drink, it’s a great way to start the day.

Sometimes the most powerful foundations for health are the simplest.

Why does one person seem to thrive on a particular training programme while someone else does exactly the same thing and sees very different results?

Because training isn't the whole story.

Your genetics can influence areas such as nutrient metabolism, muscle function, inflammation and recovery. Add in nutrition, sleep, stress, hormones and lifestyle, and it's easy to see why there isn't a single formula that works for everyone.

That's where nutrigenomics can be interesting.

DNA testing can provide information about genetic variations that may influence how you respond to certain nutrients, exercise and recovery — giving you another layer of information to consider when building a genuinely individual approach.

It's not about finding a gene that says "you should do this."

It's about understanding your individual tendencies and using them alongside your symptoms, lifestyle and goals.

Same training doesn't necessarily mean same response. Your biology matters too.

If you'd like to explore what nutrigenomics testing could tell you about your nutrition, recovery and performance, send me a message.

Or come and see us at .theexpo Sheffield on 3rd October. We'll be exhibiting at Sheffield's Fitness, Health & Wellbeing Expo.
