💚 £600 raised since 14th October! 💚

Oh my goodness, I honestly don't know what to say! 🥹

In just a few days, 12 lovely people have helped raise £600 towards my specialist lymphoedema training. I'm absolutely blown away by your kindness and generosity.

But do you know what's really got me? The lovely comments and messages I've received. Some have genuinely brought tears to my eyes. 💚

When you put so much of yourself into something you love, you just hope you're doing right by people and making a difference, however small.

Reading your words has meant more to me than I can explain. It's reminded me why I love what I do and why I want to keep learning, improving and being able to help more people.

I feel incredibly lucky to have such lovely people supporting me.

We've already reached 24% of the target, which is just amazing!

💚 A LITTLE PERSONAL APPEAL FROM ME… 💚

This is something a little different from my usual posts, and if I'm honest, asking for help doesn't come particularly naturally to me!

As many of you know, I opened Total Gut Health & Wellness Centre in January 2025, alongside my work as an NHS midwife. In January this year, I took the leap to leave the NHS after more than 15 years in healthcare and dedicate myself fully to building the clinic.

Since then, I've continued investing in specialist training, particularly in oncology scar therapy and manual lymphatic drainage.

Through my work, I've met people living with the lasting effects of cancer treatment, including lymphoedema, who can face lengthy waits to access specialist support.

I want to be able to do more to help. 💚

I've found an advanced lymphoedema training course starting in January 2027, which will allow me to develop further skills in specialist lymphatic care, including compression therapy.

The course costs are high, and after personally funding my previous training and setting up the clinic, I'm asking for a little help towards this next step.

I've launched a Crowdfunder with a target of £2,500.

🌿 My hope is not just to expand the services at the clinic, but to give something back to our community.

Once qualified, I'd love to offer some reduced-cost and, where possible, free treatments to people experiencing financial hardship, particularly those affected by cancer.

I appreciate that times are financially difficult for so many people, and there is absolutely no pressure to donate.

Even sharing this post would mean the world to me. Every share helps my campaign reach someone who may be able to support it.

Wowzers what a weekend!

Attending the ARCH Colonic Assoc. Study day in Swindon. Felt surreal to be sitting on the comitte board "top" table. Fabulous day chatting with some fabulous practitioners and expanding my knowledge...add on a cheeky spa, a Saturday night party and i am ready for some relaxing lymphatic of my own!

Normal business has resumes at 12 today, however in the madness I have managed to loose the clinic phone! Please email me should you need to reach me for the moment.

Did you know that not all colonic hydrotherapy practitioners have the same level of training, qualifications or professional accountability?

💚 CNHC Registered Colon Hydrotherapist

I am registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), whose register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) – the same independent organisation that oversees statutory healthcare regulators, including the NMC and GMC.

💚 NMC Registered Midwife (BSc Hons)

I also maintain my separate professional registration as a midwife. My years of NHS experience and clinical education inform my approach to client screening, recognising contraindications and providing safe, person-centred care.

What about the safety of colonic hydrotherapy itself? I've been told it's not safe......

A UK study published in the journal Colorectal Disease, Taffinder et al., 2004) reported 8,470 colonic hydrotherapy treatments had been provided safely by UK ARCH Colonic Assoc. Practitioners without reporting adverse effects.

Although encouraging, this was based on clients' retrospective reports and does not mean the treatment is risk-free for all. That is why new clients MUST complete a consultation with me.

For me, professional practice means:

✅ Recognised training and professional competence

✅ Thorough health screening and informed consent

✅ High standards of hygiene and infection prevention

✅ Ongoing professional development

✅ Professional accountability and knowing when treatment is unsuitable

Colonic hydrotherapy is not subject to statutory regulation in the UK, which makes checking your practitioner's qualifications and registration particularly important.

Just a little heads-up about Saturday appointments

As many of you know, I offer late evenings Monday and Tuesday, and Saturday daytime appointments as and when I can—usually at least twice a month.

Saturdays have been particularly busy over the past few months. I currently have just one afternoon appointment left on Saturday 26 September, and one day in October, the 17th.

I won’t be opening any additional Saturday dates around this time due to an upcoming house move and family birthdays—eek, exciting!

If you were hoping to book a Saturday appointment to look after your wellbeing as we head into winter, please plan ahead and book soon. 😊

💚 WELLNESS WEDNESDAY 💚

When was the last time someone really listened to your gut concerns?

Constipation, bloating, IBS symptoms and changes in bowel habits can have a significant impact on everyday life. Yet many people still feel embarrassed talking about them—or simply don’t know where to turn.

As a Registered Midwife and ARCH-registered Colon Hydrotherapist, I have over 15 years’ experience working across healthcare, including cardiac care, oncology, sexual health and maternity.

I believe in supporting the whole person, not just the symptom.

Every new colonic hydrotherapy appointment begins with a comprehensive consultation. We’ll take the time to discuss your:

• Medical history and medication
• Current symptoms and bowel habits
• Diet, hydration and lifestyle
• Previous investigations or treatment
• Individual concerns and health goals

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to listen, assess and help you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms before deciding whether colonic hydrotherapy is appropriate for you.

If a colonic isn’t the right option—or your symptoms need further medical investigation—I will always tell you. Your safety and wellbeing come first.

No extremes. No pressure. Just calm, considered care.
