Did you know that even though work boots are essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), wearing them for long hours can sometimes contribute to foot discomfort and other problems?

🥾 Common problems associated with work boots include:

🔸 Thickened or damaged toenails – pressure from tight toe boxes can damage nails over time.

🔸 Corns and calluses – friction and repeated pressure can cause hard skin to develop.

🔸 Blisters and rubbing – poorly fitting boots can create painful pressure points.

🔸 Sweaty feet and fungal infections – warm, damp conditions can encourage fungal growth.

🔸 Cracked heels and dry skin – long hours on your feet can put extra strain on your skin.

🔸 Foot pain and discomfort – unsuitable footwear may contribute to pain in the toes, arches and heels.

✔️ Make sure your work boots fit correctly, with enough room for your toes.

✔️ Wear clean, moisture-managing socks and change them when damp.

As the colder weather arrives, your feet may need a little extra care. Chilblains can develop when skin is exposed to cold and then warmed up too quickly, causing red or purple patches, itching, swelling and discomfort — especially on toes and fingers.
For Cosy-Toes Footcare, it's the perfect time to remind your clients to look after their feet this autumn and winter.
🧦 Keep feet warm with comfortable, breathable socks.
🏠 Avoid sudden changes in temperature.
🧴 Moisturise regularly to help keep skin soft.
👣 Check your feet daily for changes in colour, swelling or sore areas.
🔥 Avoid placing cold feet directly against radiators or hot water bottles.
