🍂 Recurring sore throats?
Autumn is here, and with the changing seasons comes an increase in coughs, colds and sore throats.
But what if your sore throat keeps coming back? Or perhaps you've had one that never seems to completely disappear?
It's easy to assume that every sore throat is caused by an infection, but there can be other reasons for persistent or recurring throat irritation.
🌿 Postnasal drip – mucus draining down the back of the throat can cause ongoing irritation, coughing and frequent throat clearing.
🌿 Silent reflux – stomach contents can irritate the throat, sometimes without any of the usual symptoms of heartburn.
🌿 Allergies and environmental irritants – dust, dry indoor air and other allergens can leave your throat feeling sore or scratchy.
🌿 Voice strain – prolonged talking, singing or teaching can cause irritation, particularly if your throat is already sensitive.
🌿 Recurring infections – repeated viral or bacterial infections can also be responsible. But why are you prone to this while others aren't?
Why do some people experience recurring symptoms while others don't?
Our individual health, environment, lifestyle and susceptibility can all influence how we respond to illness.
As a homoeopath, I'm interested in understanding the whole person, not simply the presenting symptom.
During a consultation, we'll explore your health history, the particular nature of your symptoms, what makes them better or worse, and your physical and emotional wellbeing.
It's this individualised approach that lies at the heart of my practice.
If you've been medically assessed and no underlying cause has been found, you may be looking for other support.
🍁 If you're interested in exploring a holistic approach to your health, I offer homoeopathic consultations in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, and online.
With 18 years of experience as a qualified homoeopath, I provide a welcoming space where you can take time to discuss your health and wellbeing.
