Are you an adult with ADHD who can be quite hard on yourself when you come up against life’s challenges? Do you think you could benefit from learning to be more compassionate towards yourself?

We would like to share an opportunity for adults with ADHD living in the UK to take part in a short online self-compassion programme led by an expert in the field.

Sophie Wong, a doctoral researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London would like to invite you to take part in her research project, ‘Evaluating a brief online Compassionate Mind Training programme delivered to adults with ADHD in the UK’.

She is carrying out research into self-compassion in adults with ADHD, with a goal of developing more support for this community. This research aims to explore the experiences and responses that adults with ADHD have to an online self-compassion programme.

❤ SEND Socials are trying to save Halescroft Centre. After 8 years of not having a home, we want to finally build one.❤

For years, SEND families in Birmingham have been fighting for safe, accessible spaces. Places where our children can be themselves, where parents feel supported, and where community isn’t an afterthought but the foundation.

For eight years, we’ve carried our community from borrowed rooms, hired halls, loaned spaces and we’ve made it work. We are genuinely grateful for every venue that has opened its doors to us. But oh, how we would love a place to call our own. A place where we can do more, for more of the time. A place where we can finally set up permanent, purpose‑built spaces for our families.

Eight years of adapting, lifting, shifting, making do, and creating magic wherever we could… because our families deserve connection and safety even when we didn’t have a home.

And in that time, we’ve grown into an award‑winning, community‑led organisation, providing thousands of activity spaces every year 👏

But our families deserve more.

The Halescroft Centre is one of the last remaining buildings in our neighbourhood that could become a dedicated SEND Community Hub. A permanent home designed around inclusion, sensory needs, accessibility, and belonging.

A home where:
❤ Children can play without judgement
❤ Young people can grow in confidence
❤ Parents and carers can breathe, connect and feel understood
❤ Our community can finally have stability

We’ve waited eight years for a chance like this.
We cannot lose it to redevelopment.

That’s why we’re launching our petition to protect Halescroft through an Asset of Community Value (ACV) nomination. This is our opportunity - maybe our only one - to secure a future home for SEND Socials and the families we serve.

If you believe SEND families deserve a place built for them…
If you’ve ever felt the impact of not having a safe, accessible space…
If you want to help us finally create a home after eight long years…

Please sign and share our petition. Your voice genuinely matters.
