Emma joined over three years ago. She hadn’t used a gym regularly before that. She thought she didn’t like exercise.

Three years later she’s 52 and says she’s never felt stronger or fitter.

That’s not a six week transformation. That’s three years of showing up, building habits, and learning that training was never the thing she didn’t like. She just hadn’t found the right place.

The bit that gets me is “confidence that I can stay strong as I get older.” That’s the whole point. Not a body transformation. The knowledge that your body is going to carry you well for the next twenty years.

Thank you Emma. ❤️

Which one have you told yourself? 👇

Most of us aren't lazy. We're waiting.

Waiting for life to calm down. Waiting for the kids to be sorted, waiting for work to ease off, for the "right time." And January feels like the right time, because it's a fresh start.

But if you're honest, there's never a good time. There's always something.

So we tell ourselves a story. "I'm too tired." "It's too late." "It never sticks anyway." And those stories feel true, because they keep us safe from trying again and feeling like we've failed again.

But here's the thing. A lot of that tiredness comes from putting yourself last for so long. Not moving enough, not fuelling yourself properly, running on empty while you look after everyone else.

And the years are flying by. Every year feels quicker than the last. How many Januarys have you already promised yourself this would be the one?

You don't need a perfect time. You need a small start. One or two habits, kept up consistently, with someone in your corner when the stories creep back in.

That's what we do. Up to three hours a week with us, and help with the other 165.

Our next six-week Foundation is open now. Link below if you're ready to stop waiting:

So many women tell themselves "I'll start in January."

Then Christmas comes, January arrives, and it's the same "what have I done?" feeling all over again. Bloated, tired, and starting from scratch.

But January isn't magic. Starting now, with just one or two small habits, means you go into Christmas with your habits already in place. You enjoy it, and still feel good on the other side of it.

Mandy nearly waited until New Year. Have a look through to see what happened when she didn't 👉

Our last offer of the year is coming out later this week for anyone who doesn't want to wait đź‘€

It’s never one meal, one missed session or one weekend that makes the difference. It’s what you do most of the time.

That’s why we focus on small habits you can keep doing. They add up, just like they did for Mandy in our last post.

So, where do you want to be this time next year? 👇

That’s a Friday well spent 💪

Mandy joined us in July and by her September holiday, her dress fitted. đź‘—

In April, Mandy’s dress was 3 inches off zipping up. She’d bought it for her holiday, loved it too much to send back, and shoved it in the back of the wardrobe. Then, packing her case, she found it and tried it on…

“Oh wow, something’s worked.” 🙌

But here’s the thing. Mandy didn’t come to us to fit into a dress. She’d forgotten all about it.

She’d seen our advert and kept putting off getting in touch. She felt sluggish, unsteady on her feet, and was losing confidence doing everyday things she used to do without thinking. In her words, she “didn’t feel like me anymore.”

So she trained with us and followed our Foundation nutrition course.

No calorie counting. No banned foods. Same dinner as the rest of her family.

Just small habits, added one at a time.

But it wasn’t just the sessions or the course. Every week, Mandy checked in with me. We talked through what was working, what wasn’t, and what to do when life got busy. She knew she was supported, and she knew she wasn’t doing it on her own.

That’s what kept her consistent, week after week.

Because when you stop chasing the result and focus on being consistent, fat loss becomes the byproduct of learning what actually works for you and your life.

Mandy didn’t notice the change happening. She just felt stronger, steadier and more energetic. The dress was the proof. 💪

So proud of you Mandy 👏

We are now in the months where most people let things slip and chase a fresh start in January.

Here’s the thing…

You don’t need to do more. You need to learn how to keep doing the small things, so they keep building even through the dark, tired months.

I think it's important to share this because I'm human just like everybody else.

I've been under the weather this past week. Barely posted. Haven't done any videos. I've just had one of those weeks where I haven't practised what I preach.

And do you know what? That's fine.

Because this is exactly what I teach. A bad week doesn't cancel out the good ones. It doesn't undo the progress. It doesn't mean you've failed.

It just means you've had a bad week.

I've had to remind myself of the same things I remind my clients. Breathe. Get the basics in. Get the sleep in.

Normal service resumes.

Here’s what nobody tells you about week one.
It’s not a test. There’s nothing to keep up with.

You walk in. You move. You start your training. And for nutrition, you’re given one thing to focus on. One habit. That’s your week.

No weighing. No measuring. No meal plan. Just one thing you can actually hold onto.

The people who’ve been here the longest all started the same way. Nervous. Unsure. Wondering if they’d made a mistake. Every single one of them will tell you the same thing. “I wish I’d done it sooner.”

Our Autumn Foundation Cohort 2 starts this week. Drop me a message if you’d like to find out more.

One exercise. Three things happening at once.

✔️ The reverse lunge builds strength through the legs and the joint.
✔️ The rotation challenges your core to stabilise while your body is moving.
✔️ And the balance demand forces everything to work together.

This is the kind of training that matters more as we get older. Not because it looks impressive... or unimpressive depending on you view of it 🤣

But because it keeps you strong, stable and confident on your feet for the next twenty years.

Being able to lunge, rotate and balance at the same time is not a gym skill. It's a life skill. Getting off the floor with your grandkids. Turning to grab something without thinking twice. Trusting your body to hold you when the ground is uneven.

That's why we train like this at GROUP PT.
