I've been a little quiet on here recently, as life has been taking me on quite a journey of its own. ✨️
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending another beautiful spiritual retreat, and while reflecting on the experience, I came to a rather lovely realisation that I wanted to share with you all...
This retreat felt different for me.
It was absolutely beautiful and just what my soul needed but looking back, I think it was less about learning something new or healing another part of myself and more about celebrating just how far I’ve already come.
For years I’ve been searching.
Healing. Learning. Questioning. Exploring spirituality, consciousness and myself. Always feeling like there was another piece I needed to find before everything would finally make sense.
I think part of me was waiting for an answer.
For my body to stop fighting me. For life to become easier. For the right people to find me. For my purpose to suddenly become crystal clear. For some unmistakable message from the universe saying, “There. That was why.”
But somewhere along the way, without even realising it, I stopped waiting.
This weekend made me see that.
My life is still beautifully unfinished. There are things I want to change, mysteries I want to explore, things I want to create and probably a thousand questions I haven’t even thought to ask yet. But I don’t feel like I’m searching for myself anymore.
I’ve spent so much of my life believing my sensitivity made this world harder to survive. Now I realise it’s also what allows me to see so much of it. I notice magic where others might walk straight past it. I question things other people accept. I keep searching when easier answers would probably be more comfortable. I create things simply because something inside me feels they need to exist.
And every time life has tried to make me smaller, eventually, I’ve expanded again.
Maybe that was the epiphany.
I was never supposed to become healed enough, spiritual enough, successful enough, understood enough or strong enough before I could start living.
Maybe none of us are.
Maybe we’re not here to perfectly fit inside the lives we’ve been given.
Maybe we’re here to create lives that actually fit us.
So this retreat felt like a celebration of every version of me that got me here. Even the versions I once wished I could erase.
And for the first time in a long time, I’m not looking at myself and asking,
“What do I need to fix next?”
I’m looking at this strange, magical, unfinished life and thinking...
“Right then. What haven’t I discovered yet?”
And maybe that’s the most exciting chapter of all.
