Happy Wellness Wednesday
How long have you been carrying that tight, heavy feeling across your shoulders?
You may feel it when driving, working, looking down at your phone or trying to settle comfortably at the end of the day.
Massage can help ease muscular tightness, relax the surrounding area and give your shoulders permission to soften.
Between treatments, place gentle warmth across your shoulders for 15 to 20 minutes. Use a purpose-made heat pack or electric heat pad on a low setting, always following the manufacturer’s instructions.
During my nursing career, I treated burns caused by hot water bottles that had leaked or burst. That experience is why I recommend choosing a heat pack or electric heat pad instead.
As the warmth settles across the area, allow yourself to pause and notice whether the muscles begin to feel more comfortable.
The heat should feel comfortably warm. Check your skin regularly and never fall asleep with it switched on.
This advice is for muscular tension. If you have injured your shoulder, or the pain persists, worsens or limits movement, please see your GP before using heat or having a massage.
If your shoulders are telling you they need some attention, message me to arrange your massage 💟
