Recently, I shared about integrity—how it exists not as moral perfection, but as alignment. This week, I want to offer a little around its close relation: integration.
This is a word I use often—
💫 in the language of yoga practice
💫 in the aftercare I offer private clients
💫 in the quiet spaces where healing begins to settle
But what do we really mean when we speak of integration?
We often think of healing as fixing what is broken.
But healing, more often, is ‘welcoming in’.
Integration is the art of including the parts of ourselves we’ve abandoned.
The uncomfortable.
The tender.
The truths we weren’t ready to hold—until now.
It’s not one clear moment of “I’ve arrived.”
It’s the unfolding after insight.
The metabolising of experience.
The nervous system recalibrating after the shift.
It’s the space between understanding something—and becoming it.
When the knowing threads from mind and weaves into body.
When the concept becomes a lived truth.
We feel it in our tissues, in our posture, in our breath.
It’s not dramatic or performative.
It’s sacred. Quiet. Ongoing.
💭 Ask yourself: Where are you in the midst of integration right now? What’s asking to be held a little more gently?
Let it take time.
Let it be enough that you’re here, tending to what’s real.
And while integration is deeply personal, it doesn’t need to be done alone.
Witnessing helps. Structure helps. So does silence.
That’s why support and space matter—whether it’s rest, movement, nature, journaling, or being gently held in a professional setting.
Integration isn’t a checklist.
It’s a devotional rhythm.
A weaving, breath by breath, back into wholeness.
