I actually can’t believe I’m writing this again! 🥹

Mama Placenta is officially a FINALIST for Best North West Business of the Year with Local Woman Magazine! 😭🏆

Last year, I walked into that awards night never imagining what was possible for a business that started as nothing more than a vision in my head. To now be recognised AGAIN, and to be a finalist in this category, honestly leaves me lost for words.

Behind Mama Placenta is a woman with a big dream, a whole lot of passion,even bigger meltdowns 😅 moments of self-doubt but an unwavering belief in what I do and WHY I do it 💜

I'm so unbelievably passionate about changing the conversation around postpartum care, supporting mamas, and helping bring placenta remedies into the spotlight. To see that passion recognised in this way means more than I could ever explain.

To every mama who has trusted me with their placenta, every person who has shared my posts, recommended my business, left a review, voted, cheered me on or supported me in any way… THANK YOU. YOU are the reason!!

The same system that tells us it will support us through motherhood too often leaves us picking up the pieces ourselves.

We're prepared for labour. We have birth plans, hospital bags and newborn essentials…
But who's preparing us for the hormonal crash? The emotional overwhelm? The physical recovery? The fourth trimester that can turn your whole world upside down?

Mamas are waking up. We're asking questions, educating ourselves and taking our postpartum care into our own hands

And no, one remedy isn't going to fix a broken system. But better preparation, informed choices and meaningful support can make a difference.

Postpartum care isn't a luxury. It isn't an afterthought. And it certainly shouldn't begin only when a mama is struggling.

Have you ever heard that placental calcification means your placenta is “failing” 👀

Take a breath, Mama 🥰

Placental calcification is a normal sign that the placenta is maturing toward the end of pregnancy. It doesn’t automatically mean your placenta is failing or that your baby isn’t getting what they need.

What matters is when the calcification appears, how extensive it is, and the overall picture of your pregnancy.

In some cases, it may be linked to placental concerns, so your midwife or obstetric team may recommend closer monitoring.

But calcification alone doesn’t tell the whole story. Education over fear, always.

If you have questions about placental calcification or notice changes in your baby’s movements, contact your midwife or obstetric team for guidance.

It’s okay to invest in your postpartum journey 💜

We don’t question spending £1,000 on a pram.

Or hundreds on the perfect nursery.

Or making sure baby has every little thing they could possibly need.

And of course, baby deserves all of that.

But what about you, Mama?

What if we started seeing postpartum care as something worth investing in too?

Nourishing your body
Supporting your nervous system
Restoring your energy
Being cared for, rather than always being the one who cares
Giving yourself time, space and support to heal

Because bringing a baby into the world is a huge transformation.

You deserve more than being told to “take it easy” and sent home with a leaflet.

You deserve to be held, nourished, supported and cared for too.

Watch your eyes with the shine of my tinfoil hat 🕵️🤣
The scary thing that this isn't even conspiracy theories, it's actual facts!

The disregard for this organ never sat well with me!
But the more I learn about the placenta, the more questions I have 👀

For nine months it grows, nourishes and protects your baby. Then the moment birth is over, most women are never told about the incredible value of the organ they just created.

We're encouraged to research every vitamin, every feeding choice and every baby product...
Yet very few mothers are told what their options are when it comes to their placenta.

Keep it. Donate it. Bury it. Encapsulate it. Whatever you choose, it should be an informed choice.

Something that felt incredibly special to me, because the beauty industry is where my passion for helping women first began 💫

Long before Mama Placenta, it was always about making women feel seen, confident, cared for and empowered in themselves. To come full circle and stand in a room filled with so many talented and hardworking business people was so inspiring.

A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners The passion, creativity and dedication in that room was amazing to witness ✨
