A Dublin mum-of-two who has gone from 16.12 st to 11.5 st says losing weight has been the best thing she has ever done for herself. ❤️

Kristina Harford, 41, knew she had to make a change after she realised that she didn’t like looking in the mirror.

“I didn’t like clothes on me, I didn’t like going clothes shopping, I didn’t like the way I looked. I pretty much hated everything when I looked in the mirror, so something had to change.

“I had been in Slimming World loads of times previously, but on August 10th 2024, I joined with my twin sister, and something just clicked. We go every Saturday morning together, and we both love it," she told RSVP Live.

Kristina said she had seen her doctor and inquired about both weight-loss injections and surgery, but was told she didn’t meet the criteria for the injections.

“The surgery would’ve taken a lot. I have Crohn's disease, and you try to avoid surgeries when you have a disease like that.”

Instead, she dedicated herself to giving Slimming World another shot, which Kristina said is the ‘best thing’ she has ever done, even though she was a little nervous at first.

“I’ve made so many friends now, it’s just amazing. The craic we have on a Saturday morning is great. It’s almost like a form of counselling.”
