Not all sleep advice is worth listening to…
Here are some you can shut outside with the ghosts this October! 👻
Absolute rubbish! Babies don’t have the required part of the brain to actually be able to do this! In order to learn how to self-regulate, babies need co-regulation!
Taking naps in the dark can extend naps which can eat into nighttime sleep! Taking naps in natural daylight helps to support the body’s circadian rhythm!
Babies wake overnight for all kinds of reasons - not just because they are hungry! Moving away from breastfeeding doesn’t guarantee less night wakes - sorry!
Nope! No such thing as a bad habit when it comes to sleep! If it’s working for you then crack on!
On average babies only need 10-11 hours of overnight sleep! So if you put your little one to sleep at 7pm - don’t be surprised with a 5am wake up!
Eurgh. Hate this.
Sleep is massively temperament based. So while some babies can fall asleep by themselves, the majority just won’t! So if your little one just gets upset or wants to know where you are if you try this, rest assured that it’s very very normal!👻
