⛈️💨🍁 This morning’s mini retreat went down an absolute storm ☔️ 😆💚

It was wet and blustery outside, but we were so pleased that all 12 of our lovely ladies made it safely to Hilton Village Hall. 🥰

Once inside, we got settled in nice and cosy (thank goodness for underfloor heating! 🫠), wrapped up in blankets and pillows, and gave ourselves permission to slow down.

We enjoyed some gentle Yin Yoga 🧘‍♀️ to stretch and release tension in the body, followed by a soothing hot foot rub and a deeply calming sound bath. 🎶✨

Afterwards, we shared a light breakfast platter, giving everyone the chance to connect, chat and share their experiences. 🤗

The feedback was lovely, and it was so special to see everyone relaxing, connecting and taking a little time out for themselves. 💚

A huge thank you to our 12 wonderful ladies for joining us and making the morning so special.

A little warmth, a little stillness, a little connection. Exactly what a blustery Sunday morning called for. 🍂🌿

Drum circle facilitation ☺️ What’s that then 🤔?

Well… it’s another fabulous & fun wellbeing activity that helps to regulate and calm the nervous system.

Julie Claxton | Holistic Therapies and I have received our accreditation today 💫 with Caroline & Neil - Sound Baths Reiki Reflexology EFT • LEEDS adding another string to our bow 🫠

Some techniques and benefits include;

Slow, steady drumming
Gentle, predictable beats can give someone an external point of focus. Combined with comfortable breathing and grounding, this may help some people settle and feel more present.

Shared rhythmic drumming
Listening and responding to one another encourages attention, cooperation and social engagement. It offers connection without requiring people to share personal stories.

Expressive, energetic drumming
Playing louder or faster can feel energising and offer a physical outlet for emotion.

We’ve had the best day learning and facilitating and we can’t wait to incorporate it into the work we’re already doing in the holistic therapy space 💚

✨ Wellbeing isn’t just for adults… it’s for little ones too! ✨

Yesterday, we did something a little bit special and were invited to bring our holistic wellbeing to a children’s birthday party for a very special sound bath! 🥳🎶

There was plenty of excitement, giggling and shouting! 😂 So, we made the session interactive, allowing the children to hold, explore and play with our musical instruments.

There were lots of questions, plenty of curiosity and they absolutely LOVED taking turns with the drum 🥁 especially when it came to banging it as hard as they possibly could! 😳😆

But then came the magic… ✨

The children snuggled down with their blankets and favourite teddy bears 🧸, and we began playing the crystal singing bowls.

Within moments, the room began to change. Little bodies became still, voices quietened and the children settled into a beautiful moment of calm. ☺️💫

And we think the parents felt it too! The chatting stopped, the energy in the room shifted, and suddenly there was the most peaceful atmosphere. 🫠

The parents were genuinely amazed at how quickly the children settled. ❤️

We gently brought the children back together, sitting in a circle and inviting each child to choose their very own affirmation card to take away with them. 🌈💛

Each card carried a little reminder of just how special they are. ✨

Because helping children understand their feelings, build confidence and feel safe enough to slow down is just as important as it is for us adults.

In a world full of noise, excitement and little busy minds, giving these children the opportunity to pause, explore sound and simply be was a beautiful experience.

Yesterday was a lovely reminder that wellbeing doesn’t have an age limit. 💛

And if we can bring a little calm to a children’s birthday party… just imagine what else is possible! 🥰

Little moments. Little minds. Big impact. ✨🌿

🧘‍♀️ Anyone fancy volunteering for a free beginner’s Pilates class tomorrow evening at 1900 in Eaglescliffe?

One of my family members is taking her Pilates instructor exam and is looking for a volunteer to take part in her assessment.

It would be a lovely way to support her as she works towards qualifying! 💛

If you’re interested and happy to help, please drop me a message and I’ll share all the details.

Thanks so much! 🫶
