π A heartfelt THANK YOU from all of us at Thatcham Pharmacy π
We were incredibly touched to see this featured by Berkshire Live following the wonderful feedback shared with Healthwatch West Berkshire. Reading these words genuinely means so much to our whole team.
When we opened Thatcham Pharmacy, we wanted to create more than somewhere people simply come to collect their medicines.... We wanted to build a pharmacy where people feel welcome, listened to, cared for and supported β particularly at those times when they may be worried or unsure about their health or medication. To hear that our patients feel this when they visit us is one of the greatest compliments we could receive π π
Thank you to the patients who took the time to share their experiences with Healthwatch West Berkshire. In a busy world, taking a few minutes to say something kind can mean more than you realise and it has definitely meant so much to our little teamπ π
Recognition like this belongs to every member of staff who welcomes someone through the door, answers a question, solves a problem, offers reassurance, or simply takes that little bit of extra time when somebody needs it. We are very proud of the team we have built. β€οΈ
Finally, thank you to Healthwatch West Berkshire and Berkshire Live for recognising and sharing the positive work being done by community pharmacy.
Most of all, thank you to our patients and our local community for continuing to trust and support us. We never take that trust for granted.
From all of us at Thatcham Pharmacy β Thank you. ππ
A Thatcham pharmacy has been singled out for praise by patients champion, Healthwatch West Berkshire.
It has written to Burdwood Pharmacy in Station Road, echoing praise of seven people who had contacted the watchdog saying how warmly they had been treated, noting that staff went out of their way to make people feel comfortable and supported.
βThe staff were so kind, they saw I was a bit worried and asked the pharmacist to sit and talk to me and go through my medication with me, which helped me understand it better,β wrote Mrs βJβ.
A letter written to the pharmacy said: βIn a period where community pharmacies continue to play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of local people, it is heartening to see your work recognised so strongly by those you serve.
βPlease pass on our sincere thanks and congratulations to everyone involved.
βPositive experiences like these make a real difference to individuals and to the overall confidence the community has in local health services.β
Fiona Worby of Healthwatch West Berkshire said in her annual report: βWhile much of our work focuses on identifying areas for improvement, we also believe it is important to celebrate when services provide excellent care.
βDuring the year, Healthwatch received seven compliments from local people about one service, praising the kindness, compassion and professionalism of staff.
βPeople told us they felt treated with dignity and respect and valued the quality of care they received.
βWe shared this positive feedback directly with the service through a formal letter of recognition, ensuring that staff could see the difference they had made to peopleβs experiences.
βBy highlighting good practice as well as areas for improvement, we help promote a culture of learning, recognition and high-quality care across West Berkshire.β
