A nourishing mug of cacao, the Chinese medicine way ☕🍂

In Chinese medicine, cacao is said to gently move Qi and Blood and uplift the Shen. Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and clove are known as warming spices, perfect for the colder months. Date syrup adds a gentle sweetness and is traditionally used in Chinese medicine to nourish the Blood.

For one serving you’ll need:

250 ml plant-based milk
1–2 tsp cacao powder
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cardamom
¼ tsp vanilla powder
a pinch of ground clove
1–2 tsp date syrup, to taste
a k**b of butter (optional, for extra creaminess)

Method:

Warm your favourite plant-based milk in a saucepan.
Add the cacao and warming spices and whisk until smooth.
Heat gently for a few minutes without letting it boil.
Sweeten with date syrup and add a k**b of butter if you’d like it creamier.
Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy.

Wishing you a cosy evening 🤍

衛氣 Wei Qi – caring for your defensive Qi this autumn 🍂

As the nights draw in, Chinese medicine teaches that our Wei Qi needs a little extra care. In TCM, these acupuncture points are traditionally used to nourish it, alongside warming food, a cosy scarf and plenty of rest.

There's an expression in Chinese medicine: An Shen, which means "calming the spirit." In TCM, these acupuncture points are traditionally used to settle the Shen, which is linked to a calm mind and restful sleep. Many people find the treatment deeply relaxing and feel more at ease, often in their back, too. 🌿

Feeling constantly drained, even after a full night's sleep? 🥱
In Chinese Medicine, ongoing tiredness is rarely just about sleep. It's often linked to the digestive system – what we call Spleen and Stomach Qi – which turns the food we eat into energy. When digestion struggles, the body simply runs low on fuel.
The good news: you don't have to just push through it. With acupuncture and personalised dietary advice, we work on supporting your digestion and helping your energy come back naturally. ✨
