It’s been one I’ve been chasing for a long time, 68kg was programmed & I just kept thinking about all the tiny plates I needed to get there…turns out avoiding getting those out was quite an incentive.
So I stuck 70kg (154lb) on and finally, after many previous misses, got it.

It’s always rewarding to hit a new number, and I’m definitely celebrating! But as I plod on into my 40th year of living, so much of my training is now really about telling my body to STAY strong and keep the muscle around. Those things drive me to train more than anything else.

Small wins happen in small garages. It’s been quite a while since I hit a deadlift PR (March 2021), and a lot has changed since then. But it seems there’s still more PR’s in me somewhere. ⁣

Naturally I watched the speed of this rep and knew I should have gone heavier, I gave 160/352 a good shot afterwards but I’d fried myself. ⁣in.the.gym - thank you for always having my “back” ❤️
