PRETTINESS IN PORTOBELLO…

I haven’t walked down Portobello in years… it may not have been the mad buzz one usually finds over the weekend but there was still a jolly vibe; past the green grocer stalls, all kinds of specialist stores, independent shops & eateries galore…

the colourful painted terraced homes nowadays sport mostly farrow & ball-esque muted shades & the blossoms were right on queue- loved my afternoon & way to end off my working day

that’s what we were a few weeks ago but now it’s the veggies’ turn 😉
•
today felt like the first day of autumn to me; my leather jacket came out of hiding but the fridge had a spring clean …
•
all the veggies & oranges 🍊 it had to offer landed in a roasting dish, some of them detoured through a marinade … even the broccoli stalks didn’t escape (they are just yummy when roasted) … & I love how the florets crisp up - as long as you keep an eye on them & they don’t char
•
marinated in:
olive oil
🐝 honey
apple 🍏 cider vinegar
🌊 seasoned sea-salt
•
180 C … then 150 C
•
topped with silky smooth baked feta & served on a bed of couscous seasoned with ras el hanout , salt&pepper & roughly chopped parsley
