I'm Karen Doak and I have a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy from the Cambridge School of Sports Massage. I originally became interested in the subject through my interest (obsession?) with endurance running and all of the injuries and problems that this can cause. The course has taught me that massage and manipulation are incredibly effective in getting rid of the aches, pains and restrictive movements caused by everyday life and sporting activities. I'm passionate about helping people regain movement and rid themselves of pain. I treat clients using the following techniques:
Soft Tissue Massage - superficial and deep massage
Dry Needling/Medical Acupuncture
Osteopathic Articulation
Soft Tissue Release - powerful stretching of muscles
Muscle Energy Techniques - gentle, non-invasive muscle stretching to improve range of movement
Trigger Point Therapy - localised pressure to relieve pain
Positional Release - placing the muscle into a comfortable position to relieve pain
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation - using RockBlades, an excellent tool for stimulating the nervous system to encourage movement
Functional Movement Taping - various methods of taping to help get you moving
All of these techniques are extremely effective in helping to prevent and aid recovery of injury, correcting postural deficiencies and providing relaxation. I charge £40 per hour's treatment, working from home during the week and at the triharder triathlon shop in Dereham on Saturdays. Please get in touch if you think I can help - [email protected] or send me a private message. Qualifications, Training and Membership:
