Upper Beeding Pharmacy is a small independent run pharmacy caring for the local community. We are driven to provide the utmost care for our patients.

We are providing both flu and COVID vaccinations at Upper Beeding Pharmacy.

COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has changed significantly. This year, NHS vaccinations are only available to:

-Adults aged 75 and over
-Residents of care homes for older adults
-People with a weakened immune system (immunosuppressed)

We offer both NHS and private flu vaccinations - appointments can be booked online as for Covid, or you're welcome to walk in.

📣 **Our Health & Wellbeing Mornings have moved to a quarterly schedule!**

Our free Health & Wellbeing Mornings at TheHub, which we previously held every month, are now taking place **once every three months**.

Our next morning will be in December, and we’ll continue to offer the same free health checks, advice and support.

🎓 Results Day is looming! 🎓

It’s an exciting time, with university, college and new adventures just around the corner. Alongside celebrating results and planning what comes next, don’t forget about protecting your health.

The MenB vaccine helps protect against meningococcal group B bacteria, which can cause serious illnesses including meningitis and sepsis.

Eligible young people can now receive their MenB vaccinations at Upper Beeding Pharmacy. Two doses are needed, at least four weeks apart, so it’s important to get started before term begins.

Please remind your friends, children and loved ones to protect themselves before they enter this exciting next stage of life.

📅 Book through the NHS National Booking System or simply walk in for your vaccine.

📄 Proof that you are starting university for the first time may be required.

💉 Upper Beeding Pharmacy is now offering the free NHS MenB vaccination service to eligible young people.

Who is eligible?

✅ 17 and 18-year-olds born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008
You must be registered with a GP surgery in England.

Only people in this eligible 17 to 18-year-old group can book online through the NHS National Booking Service: http://www.nhs.uk/book-menb

✅ New university and residential further education students
You may also be eligible if you:

• Are under 25 and were born on or after 21 July 2001
• Are starting university or certain further education colleges for the first time in autumn 2026
• Will be living in student or further education accommodation

Eligible students in this group cannot book through the online booking link above, but may attend a participating pharmacy.

🚶 Walk-ins are welcome at Upper Beeding Pharmacy, subject to vaccine availability.

Please check that you meet the NHS eligibility criteria before booking or attending.

The MenB vaccination course consists of two doses, with the second dose given at least four weeks after the first. Both doses are needed to complete the course.

***UPDATE***
Other pharmacies in the area are experiencing significant difficulties currently leading to a large increase in queries and prescriptions to Upper Beeding Pharmacy.

We are currently managing demand, but we would ask for understanding and patience at this time where we are dealing with this overnight increase in workload. There are still national shortages of medications and pharmacies all continue to dispense at a loss to NHS patients, hence the difficulties others are facing. We are able to order from all our suppliers and obtain the majority of medications, so please don't order earlier than you usually would.

Please use the NHS App where you can to change your nominated pharmacy (help here - https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/help/prescriptions/nominating-a-pharmacy/) and also use the app to track the progress of your prescription (help here - https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/help/prescriptions/requesting-a-prescription/).

There is really no need to panic, please just bear with us as we transition into a new phase of service provision.

We’ll be offering a range of free health checks and advice, including:

Please note: for this month only, ear checks will only be available from 9:15am to 10:30am due to staffing.

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent Health & Wellbeing Morning at The Hub.

We received some fantastic feedback and it was great to see so many members of the community making use of the services and advice available from the team at Upper Beeding Pharmacy.

Following this, we’re pleased to share that we are planning to run these events on a monthly basis.

Our aim is to hold them on the second Tuesday of each month, although this may vary slightly depending on availability.

These sessions will continue to offer free health checks, advice, and support, including blood pressure checks, ear checks, smoking cessation support, medication advice, and help with the NHS App.

We’ll confirm each date in advance, so please keep an eye on our page for updates.
