👀 Let’s talk about the side of business nobody plans for…

The unexpected absence.
The return-to-work questions.
The employee who needs support.
The manager who needs guidance.

These things happen. What matters is how you handle them.

Good Occupational Health support can help you navigate those moments with greater confidence, supporting both your people and your business.

Don’t wait until a small problem becomes a big one.

📣 **Don't wait for a workplace health concern to become a bigger problem.**

When an employee starts struggling at work, early support can make all the difference.

Yet many businesses only consider Occupational Health once absence has begun, a situation has escalated, or a manager is unsure what to do next.

đź’ˇ **What if the right support was available sooner?**

Occupational Health can help employers make informed decisions, understand an employee's fitness for work, explore reasonable adjustments and plan appropriate support before challenges become harder to manage.

For businesses, that means having access to professional guidance when it matters — not just when a problem has already developed.

Your people are one of your biggest assets. Giving them the right support is an investment in your workforce and your business.

🤝 **Could your business benefit from a more proactive approach to Occupational Health?**

We're here to help you explore the right support for your organisation.

October is a good time to put employee health higher on the agenda.

With World Mental Health Day on 10 October, the focus this year is on listening to lived experiences and turning those voices into meaningful change.

For employers, that means more than simply reacting when someone becomes unwell.

A proactive Occupational Health service can help you:

âś“ Support employee health and wellbeing
âś“ Identify barriers to staying in or returning to work
âś“ Provide practical, evidence-based workplace recommendations
âś“ Help managers navigate health-related concerns confidently
âś“ Reduce avoidable absence and support sustainable attendance

Good occupational health is about helping people stay well, stay supported and stay at work where appropriate.

As we move through October, now is the perfect time to review whether your organisation has the right Occupational Health support in place.

Q4 is nearly here. Is your workplace health strategy ready?

As we head into the final quarter of 2026, occupational health is firmly on the agenda.

The UK Government’s latest Keep Britain Working update highlights a simple but important message: earlier support can help people stay in work, rather than waiting until health issues become long-term absence.

And with Occupational Health Awareness Week having just highlighted the value of healthier, safer workplaces, there’s never been a better time to review your approach.

Our Occupational Health services can support your organisation with:

âś“ Pre-employment and management referrals

âś“ Fitness-for-work assessments

âś“ Workplace adjustments

âś“ Return-to-work support

âś“ Mental health and wellbeing guidance

âś“ Musculoskeletal concerns

âś“ Practical advice for managers

Don’t wait for Q4 challenges to become Q1 problems.

Make workplace health part of your year-end planning.

🚨 **HSE has sent a very clear message about health surveillance.**

In July, the Health and Safety Executive took its **first-ever enforcement action against an occupational health service provider**, issuing a Prohibition Notice after finding that inadequate health surveillance was putting workers at risk.

HSE identified concerns including insufficient competence, clinical governance, quality assurance and processes for acting on adverse findings.

The message for employers is important:

**Having a health surveillance programme in place isn't enough. It needs to be competent, appropriate to the risks and capable of identifying early signs of occupational ill health.**

Health surveillance can be an important part of managing risks associated with:

🔹 Noise
🔹 Hand-arm vibration
🔹 Respiratory sensitisers
🔹 Wood dust
🔹 Flour dust
🔹 Respirable crystalline silica
🔹 Hazardous substances
🔹 Skin exposure and dermatitis

And HSE enforcement is demonstrating that this isn't simply an administrative exercise.

Recent HSE action has included employers being found in breach for failing to provide appropriate health surveillance for workers exposed to wood dust and other hazardous substances.

**So, when was the last time you reviewed your health surveillance programme?**

We help employers develop and deliver structured health surveillance programmes aligned with workplace risks and relevant HSE requirements — helping turn health surveillance results into meaningful action.

Workplace health risks are real — and employers need to be proactive.

With Occupational Health Awareness Week coming up (21–27 September), now is a good time to ask:

👉 Are you identifying health risks early?
👉 Are managers confident supporting employees with health conditions?
👉 Are you reducing avoidable absence and supporting sustainable returns to work?
👉 Is your organisation getting the full value from Occupational Health?

A good OH service isn't simply a referral destination. It can provide employers with practical, evidence-based advice that connects employee health with business performance.

If you're reviewing your Occupational Health provision, struggling with absence, or looking for a more proactive approach to workforce wellbeing, let's talk.

🍂 September is the perfect time to put workplace health back on the agenda.

As teams return from the summer and businesses look ahead to the final quarter of the year, occupational health shouldn’t be an afterthought — it should be part of your strategy for a healthier, safer and more productive workforce.

Recent UK developments are a timely reminder of why effective occupational health matters. The HSE has taken enforcement action where inadequate health surveillance put workers at risk, while new attention is being given to workplace temperatures and protecting employees during periods of extreme heat.

At Pegasus Occupational Health, we help employers take a proactive approach to occupational health, including:

âś… Health surveillance

âś… Management referrals

âś… Fitness-for-work assessments

âś… Workplace wellbeing support

âś… Absence and return-to-work advice

âś… Occupational health advice tailored to your organisation

The goal? Helping your people stay healthy at work while giving managers the professional advice they need to make informed decisions.

September is a great time to review your current occupational health provision and ask:

👉 Are you getting the support your managers need?

👉 Are your health surveillance arrangements effective?

👉 Could earlier intervention reduce sickness absence?

👉 Is your organisation prepared for emerging workplace health risks?

If occupational health is on your agenda for Q4, let’s talk.

🍂 September is the perfect time to put workplace health back on the agenda

As summer comes to an end and businesses settle back into their normal routines, September is a great opportunity to take a fresh look at the health and wellbeing of your workforce.

Recent developments have highlighted just how important effective Occupational Health support is. The Government’s Keep Britain Working programme continues to focus on preventing people from falling out of work due to ill health, with greater emphasis on prevention, early intervention and effective return-to-work support.

At the same time, the HSE has taken enforcement action against an Occupational Health provider after finding inadequate health surveillance arrangements that could have left workers exposed to serious health risks.

For employers, the message is clear: workplace health shouldn't be reactive — it should be proactive.

Our Occupational Health services can help your organisation with:

âś… Management referrals
âś… Health surveillance
âś… Workplace assessments
âś… Mental health support
âś… Musculoskeletal assessments
âś… Advice on reasonable adjustments
âś… Effective return-to-work planning
