Optom academy is an institution that has been set up specifically to cater for the needs of pre-registration optometrists students. Our courses are designed to help you to become more confident in the College of Optometrists stage 1 and 2 examinations and the OSCE'S. Courses are held at the Optegra Eye Clinic at Aston University campus, Birmingham in the evenings, this means you do not need to take a day off from work. Courses run thoughout the year and are capped to a maximum of 30 students per evening session, allowing everyone an opportunity to participate and provide a more relaxed environment. We offer a group tutorial on popular topics which are known to be areas where a lot of pre-reg students tend to struggle

Good luck to those sitting their osces! A bit of sense of humour to kick start the exams! :)

We are very thankful to our wonderful examiners for being strict but also a lot of fun 😁

We’ve all been there: a patient is sitting in front of you in clinic or in an exam, time is ticking, and your mind goes blank on the exact protocol.
That’s exactly why we created the Optometry Practical Handbook.
Over 4 years went into curating nearly 80 pages of clear, concise notes on the core practical skills every optometrist needs to master — from paediatric testing and RGP lenses to fundus biomicroscopy and visual field setups.
It’s designed to be your go-to clinical resource from student days, through placements and into qualified practice.
Grab your copy via the link in our bio while the introductory pricing lasts! ✨
