He’s a reminder that nature conceals her wisdom until we’re patient and present enough to receive it.

This is also a card of guardianship. The Green Man appears in stone and story as a protector of thresholds, doorways, and places where worlds meet. He’s asking you to notice where you’re being guided to slow down, look again, and see the hidden gift in what surrounds you.

Go for a mindful walk in nature. Look for shapes, faces, or patterns in the trees, stones, or plants. Ask yourself: “What is life showing me that I might be overlooking?”

Autumn, or fall, arrives with the wisdom of surrender. Like the trees releasing their leaves, you’re being called to let go of what you no longer need. Even in struggle, nature shows us that release can be graceful, complete, and necessary for renewal.

Trees are perfect examples of trust in action. No matter whether their year has been abundant or difficult or whether they’re thriving or struggling, they surrender their leaves when the season turns to autumn. There’s no resistance, no clinging, only trust that by letting go, they’re making space for what’s to come.

When Autumn appears, it’s time to look honestly at what you may be holding on to. Perhaps it’s a relationship, a habit, an old story, or a fear. Like the leaves, these things once had purpose, but now they’re weighing you down. The medicine of this card is to release them with grace, knowing that new growth can’t come while you’re clinging to the old.

This card also asks you to trust the wisdom of cycles. Letting go isn’t an ending but a sacred step in the rhythm of life. By releasing, you’re creating the space your soul needs to receive.

Take a leaf in your hand and meditate on what’s ready to be released in your own life. When you’re ready, let the leaf fall to the ground and walk away.
