💙 Blue Lip Selfie – Raising Awareness of Mouth Cancer
At Yew Tree Dental, we're turning our lips blue to help raise awareness of mouth cancer!
November is Mouth Cancer Action Month, and we're supporting the Blue Lip Selfie campaign to encourage everyone to become more aware of mouth cancer, recognise the early warning signs and understand the importance of regular dental check-ups.
Wearing blue lipstick, taking a selfie and sharing it with friends and family might seem like a bit of fun, but it helps start a very important conversation.
Did you know that a simple 45-second mouth check could help save your life?
What signs should you look out for?
It's important to be aware of any unusual changes in your mouth, including:
Mouth ulcers that don't heal within three weeks.
Red or white patches in the mouth.
Unusual lumps or swellings.
Persistent soreness or pain in your mouth.
Difficulty swallowing or unexplained changes in your mouth.
Don't ignore the signs
If you notice anything unusual that doesn't go away, please contact us or GP for advice. Early detection is extremely important, and regular dental examinations give us an opportunity to check your mouth for any suspicious changes.
