I can’t tell you how many times a client has said “is that weird?!” or “sorry, TMI” and it’s always, always the thing that changes everything about how I support them.

Tell me everything. Literally everything! 👀

The BTS nobody asked for 🤣

What actually happens when clients go into labour at 2am 👀

Bookings open for 2027, if you want someone in your corner at 2am, I’d love to chat in the DMs 🤗

Pregnant women don’t need more birth techniques.

They need to actually practise the ones they’ve got.

Think about when you learnt to drive…passing your test didn’t make driving second nature.

The practice did and birth prep is no different.

You don’t want the first time you really try these tools to be when you’re in labour (trust me, been there, done that 🙊)

That’s why, with my doula clients, I encourage consistent practice until it becomes familiar.

We want these tools to be living in your body and mind when the time comes to welcome your baby 💜

1st trimester feels can be A LOT.

And you deserve more support than “try not to worry and we’ll see you at your 12 week scan.”

If you’re feeling your brain spinning 24/7 while you process the fact you’re pregnant, head to my link in bio or comment FIRST for a free first trimester meditation designed to leave you feeling calmer and clearer.

(It can’t erase the nausea though, sorry!)

And tell me…which slide are you feeling the most?

Firstly, you’re doing a bloody amazing job 👏

Some ideas to help you feel supported in the first trimester…

🌿 Check what’s in your supplements - check if anything might not be suitable for pregnancy an invest in a high quality multivitamin (hint, lookup the difference between folic acid and folate)

📅 Consjder sharing a due month - when you’re ready to share your news consider sharing a due month…you’ll thank yourself later when you’re not receiving the constant “any signs yet?!” messages from well meaning friends and relatives.

📣 Decide who has earned early access - the idea of keeping one of the most life changing pieces of news a secret while you may be feeling extremely out of sorts 🤢 for twelve weeks is tradition, not obligatory. If you think it would help to share with those who can support you, go for it!

🙅🏻‍♀️ Practice cancelling plans without apology - first trimester exhaustion is no joke 🥱 and you don’t have to push through, your body needs rest.

🤔 Notice what you’re already being told you “have to” do - the word of pregnancy and birth is full of unwanted opinions and advice and it’s up to you to decide which ones you take and which you question…practice asking “is that my only option?” now.

👯 Don’t wait until the 3rd trimester to think about support - the people around you during pregnancy will boost or drain your energy. Start building your support team now.

Let’s make sure you’re supported from the moment you see those two lines 🫶

As a doula, part of my job is helping women to prepare to birth in the system they’re actually entering, not the one we still hope or dream is in existence.

Wherever you live, look at your local stats and ask yourself…

🤔 How will my choice of birthplace affect the options available to me?

🤔 What decisions can I explore before labour?

🤔 Who will help me pause, understand my options and advocate for what matters to me?

This is what doula support looks like, conversations, digging deeper, supporting you to make choices which are genuinely your own 💪

I looove seeing women recognise each other when they step into the studio for their first postnatal class.

You can almost see their shoulders drop as they walk in not knowing who or what to expect, and then realise they’re in a room full of familiar faces!

And I’m expecting I will see that familiar look next Thursday when we restart postnatal yoga at the beautiful

Come and join us and discover you might have already started to build your village without realising it!

A much needed pause at the end of the summer hols last night for a lovely group of mums.

As always The BAKE Yard Sauna, Wimborne delivered and it was so cosy in the sauna as the wind blew around us and we got lost in conversation.

This event also marked the end of my Summer Slowdown series and I’ve loved hearing how everyone has been getting on.

The thing a lot of mums have taken from it? That they find it so hard to take intentional rest, and as we said last night, rest doesn’t need to mean a spa day.

☕️ It’s leaving the washing and putting your feet up with a cuppa rather than racing to get everything done (which let’s face it will never happen anyway!)

🌞 It’s actually pausing for a few mins to put your face to the sun and take some deep breaths.

🧖‍♀️ It’s an hour out of the house for a sauna or a yoga class.

The more we practice these little things, the more they can become second nature.

And for me, after a busy week, this rainy day today is just what I need to slow down and dip my toe in cosy season!

Sunset trying to peak through 👀

I’ll take one for the team here as some of our cold plunge pics were 😱🤣

Can’t wait to come back for some cosy autumn sessions soon 🍂

As a busy Mum, your time is precious and that’s why your yoga practice needs to leave you feeling refreshed not rushed.

Yoga for Mothers hits that sweet spot 🤌 …enough movement that you get those endorphins going but a slower pace where it’s needed in more challenging or under-explained postures.
