🌑 When the astrology gets you thinking…

Two shocking stories in the news this week.

A man entering a tiger enclosure and being mauled. A person falling from a rollercoaster in a fatal incident happening within a very small window of eachother.

Different circumstances, devastating consequences, and real people so this isn't me being insensitive.

But there is an astrologer in me and I can't help looking at the sky and wondering about the symbolism of the current transits.

We're coming out of a Mars/Pluto opposition, with Mars also activating Uranus.

🔥 Mars = action, physical force, instinct and risk.

🦂 Pluto = power, extremes, survival and the consequences of pushing limits.

⚡ Uranus = sudden change, unpredictability and events that disrupt our sense of control.

Astrologically, it's a pretty intense combination to contemplate this week 😬

Mars (in Leo 🐈) opposite Pluto can symbolise the encounter between force and power and Uranus adds the theme of sudden disruption and the unexpected.

I'm absolutely not suggesting the planets caused these events, or that astrology can predict individual tragedies. We have to be careful not to confuse symbolic interpretation with real-world causation.

But it does raise an interesting question about mundane astrology…

Can the planetary weather reflect the themes playing out in the collective, even when we cannot predict the specific events?

Not everything needs to be turned into a prediction. Sometimes, it's about observing, questioning and exploring the symbolism with humility. 🌌

There's a new wellness fair starting in Boscombe soon and its being run by the lovely Victoria from Such a Beautiful Day. I will be reading astrology charts all day there on the 7th November. There's another one on the 3rd October too.

If you have sun, moon or rising in any of these signs check this out...

♉ TA**US
Because Venus is your ruler, Venus retrograde matters to you. Venus retrograde is always a review of Venusian territory: love, relationships, money, pleasure, values, attraction, self worth and desire.
The Full Moon us also landing in Ta**us at the end of the month, your themes around security, relationships, money and self worth may become particularly noticeable.
You may find yourself questioning what genuinely makes you feel safe, not what looks secure, what actually does.

Mars is moving through Leo while the month opens with Mars opposite Pluto.
This can put pressure on themes around identity, expression, autonomy and power.
You may feel an enormous urge to do something.
Just make sure you're acting from conviction rather than reacting to someone else's attempt to control the situation.

Obviously.
Venus turns retrograde in your sign, then the Sun enters Scorpio, then Venus meets the Sun, then Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio.
Basically October has rented a room in your house and is deep review territory.
Relationships.
Identity.
Desire.
Self worth.
Trust.
What you're prepared to tolerate, what you're not, plus stripping away of the version of you.

Pluto stations direct this month.
That makes Pluto's themes louder for you:
power, identity, autonomy, transformation and the future you're building.

You may find yourself questioning where you're genuinely exercising your freedom…
and where you're simply reacting against being controlled.

If I had to reduce this entire month to one question, it would be:
Does this thing still belong in my life? But October isn't necessarily asking you to burn everything down.
It's asking you to stop pretending you don't know which bits are already dead because sometimes the most uncomfortable thing isn't change, it's knowing something needs to change and continuing to live as though it like it doesn't.

I’ve discovered something about my astrocartography that has made me go…well, that explains a lot!

My Uranus MC line, Mercury line and jupiter lines run right through Cayman or the wider Caribbean! Although i did not know this when we began this journey, I just knew as soon as we came here that this place just felt very different.

I've only ever felt this once before and that was when I went to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scotland gives me exactly the same weird feeling, although that time it was like I'd arrived home.
I've always been ridiculously fascinated by Scotland, particularly anything to do with the 1600s, witch trials and witch hunts in that strange, visceral “this feels weirdly familiar" way.
I've had an intuitive feeling for years that I may have been tried as a witch and hanged in Scotland.

I find it fascinating that certain places can create such a strong reaction in us that goes way beyond “ooh, lovely scenery.”
Your birth chart can give you clues...

the IC (Imum Coeli) and the 12th house are two of the places astrologers commonly examine for clues about themes carried from the past.
The distinction is useful:
IC / 4th house - roots, ancestry, the deep unconscious sense of home, and experiences that may feel ancient or strangely familiar.
12th house - hidden experiences, isolation, sacrifice, imprisonment, institutions, unconscious patterns and what is carried beneath conscious awareness.
South Node - often examined alongside these for patterns, habits and experiences that astrologers interpret as coming from previous incarnations.
Planets tightly connected to the IC or occupying the 12th can add another layer.

Plus our birth chart can take it around the world.
Different places activate different planets.

Some can feel expansive.
Some grounding.
Some chaotic.
Some strangely familiar.
Some make you fall in love.
Some make you completely reinvent yourself and you look at your map and go "oh ok there you go!"

Now I'm seriously curious, have you ever been somewhere that felt instantly familiar or intensely activating?
