🏮 Sometimes, all you need is enough light to see the next step.

When you’re carrying too much, it’s not just your emotions that feel the weight. Overwhelm can affect how you think, too. You might experience brain fog, forget what you were doing halfway through a task, struggle to concentrate or find even the simplest decisions exhausting. You might feel physically drained despite having done very little, because your mind has been working overtime trying to keep up with everything life is asking of you.

And when you feel like this, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the thought of everything you need to sort out. You want to know how it’s all going to work out, where you’re heading and how you’re going to get there. But sometimes, you simply can’t see that far ahead. And that’s okay. You don’t need to have the whole journey mapped out before you begin. Sometimes you have to trust yourself enough to take one step, then the next. To pause when you need to, find your footing and allow the path to reveal itself as you go. 🧡

This is where I can help. Through somatic therapy, mindfulness, meditation and supportive conversation, I can help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, understand the patterns keeping you overwhelmed and find ways to feel more grounded and less tangled up in your own thoughts. We can slow things down, work through what’s weighing on you and find a way forward that feels manageable, rather than trying to solve everything at once. You don’t have to arrive knowing what you need or where to start. We can work that out together.

If your mind feels foggy, you’re exhausted from trying to hold everything together, or you know something needs to change but can’t quite see what comes next, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Sometimes, you just need a little support, a bit of breathing space and enough light for that next step. 🏮

Get in touch to book a session. Let’s find your way forward, one step at a time.

Ever feel like your brain has 37 tabs open, three are frozen, and you can’t remember what you went into the room for?

We talk about carrying too much as though it’s just about having too much to do. But it’s not only the jobs on your list. It’s remembering everything, anticipating everyone’s needs, making decisions, worrying about what you’ve forgotten, replaying conversations and trying to keep all the little pieces of life from falling apart.

In psychology, this is part of what we call cognitive load: the mental effort involved in processing and managing information. And just like a basket filled with pumpkins and squash, there’s only so much you can carry before it starts to feel heavy. Even the little things add weight. Eventually, you might find yourself feeling irritable, overwhelmed, forgetful, unable to concentrate or exhausted by decisions that would normally feel simple. You might not even know why you feel so unlike yourself.

The answer isn’t always to become better at carrying everything. Sometimes, it’s learning how to put some of it down. 🤎

This is something I can help you with. Through somatic therapy, mindfulness, meditation and honest, supportive conversation, we can begin to untangle what you’re carrying, recognise the patterns keeping you stuck, understand how your body responds to stress and find ways to create more space in your mind. We’ll explore what genuinely needs your attention, what you’ve taken responsibility for that isn’t yours to hold, and how to respond to life without feeling permanently on alert.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burnt out to ask for support. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out, either. We can start exactly where you are.

If your mind feels full, your body feels tense and even resting doesn’t seem to switch you off, perhaps it’s time to stop trying to carry it all alone.

Get in touch to book a session. Let’s make a little room for you. 🍂

🌿 A little challenge for this weekend: stop. Stand still. Notice.

When was the last time you went outside without trying to get somewhere?

Not walking the dog while checking your phone. Not rushing to the next job. Not listening to a podcast or thinking through your to-do list.

Just you, the earth beneath your feet and the world happening around you.

We spend so much time in our heads, thinking about what’s happened, what might happen and everything we need to do next. Getting outside and paying attention to the natural world can help bring us back into the present. The fresh air, the sounds around us, the feeling of the ground beneath our feet and the simple act of breathing a little more slowly can help us feel calmer, more settled and connected to what’s happening right now.

🍂 So here’s your weekend grounding challenge:

🌳 Find a spot outside where you can comfortably stand or sit still for a few minutes.

👣 Feel the ground beneath your feet. Notice the support underneath you. If it feels comfortable, take your shoes off and feel the earth directly.

🌬️ Breathe in the air. Notice whether it feels cool, warm, damp or crisp. Let your breathing find its own natural rhythm rather than forcing it.

🐦 Now, just notice. What can you hear? What can you smell? What catches your eye? Can you feel a breeze on your skin? Are there tiny movements in the grass, leaves or branches that you’d normally walk straight past?

🌿 And finally, notice yourself. What’s happening in your body? Are your shoulders up around your ears? Is your jaw clenched? Does anything soften when you stop trying to do anything at all?

You don’t need to achieve a particular feeling. You don’t have to feel instantly peaceful or completely switch off your thoughts. The challenge is simply to pay attention, using your senses to reconnect with the present moment.

Give yourself five minutes. Longer if you fancy it.

Then ask yourself: what did I notice when I finally stopped?

I’d love to hear what you discover. 🤎

🍂 Anyone else starting to feel that shift in the seasons?

The mornings have that chill in the air, you’re reaching for your knitted jumpers again, and suddenly a hot coffee and a cosy afternoon at home sound far more appealing than being busy all the time. 🎃☕

I actually love this time of year. The pumpkins, the acorns scattered on the ground, the last of the flowers and those little signs that nature is getting ready to slow down. It’s a lovely reminder that we don’t have to be constantly doing, achieving or pushing ourselves either.

So here are 5 ways to make the most of the cosier days ahead:

🧶 1. Get your favourite jumper out. The one that makes you feel like you’re getting a hug. Make yourself comfortable without feeling you need to earn the rest.

☕ 2. Take your coffee slowly. Not while answering messages, checking emails or doing three other things. Just sit, drink it while it’s hot and give yourself five minutes to actually be there.

🍁 3. Go for an autumn wander. Look for acorns, interesting leaves, berries and the last flowers still hanging on. You don’t need a destination or a step count. Just get outside and notice what’s around you.

🎃 4. Make your home feel like autumn. A few pumpkins, seasonal flowers, natural finds from a walk or a cosy corner with a blanket. It doesn’t have to be perfect or Pinterest-worthy; just make it feel like your space.

🕯️ 5. Let an evening be an evening. Put the phone down, light a candle, cook something warming, read a few pages or simply sit with your thoughts. You don’t have to fill every quiet moment with something.

And perhaps that’s the biggest one for me: letting life get a little slower without feeling guilty about it.

We spend so much time trying to keep up with everything that we can forget to enjoy the small things that are right in front of us.

So, as the weather cools, maybe you don’t need a new routine or another thing to add to your to-do list. Maybe you just need a warm drink, a favourite jumper and a little more time to yourself. 🤎

Tell me, what’s your first sign that cosy season has officially arrived? 🍂

''I don’t really know who I am anymore''

So much of our lives are built around the roles we play. Mum. Partner. Daughter. Friend. Carer. Colleague. The person who keeps everyone organised. The one people come to when they need something. And those parts of us matter, but sometimes, underneath all those roles, we can lose touch with the person actually living the life.

What do you like? What makes you laugh? What do you enjoy when nobody else is choosing? What makes you feel alive? What would you do with a completely free afternoon? What do you want more of? What have you stopped doing because life became about everyone else? Finding yourself isn’t necessarily about becoming someone new. Sometimes it’s about gently peeling back the layers and remembering the parts of you that were there all along. 🌿

If you’re at a point in life where you’re thinking “I don’t really know who I am anymore” or “I know everyone else so well, but I’ve lost touch with myself,” this is something we can explore together. Through conversation, somatic work, mindfulness and reflection, I can help you slow down enough to hear your own thoughts and begin to understand what you actually want, need and feel, without having to be somebody else’s mum, partner, daughter or anything else for a little while. Just you.

🐾 Have you ever noticed how you feel when you’re around an animal you love?

You sit beside your dog. Stroke your cat. Watch them breathe. Maybe they settle beside you and, without really thinking about it, you start to settle too.

This is part of co-regulation, our nervous systems responding to the presence, safety and calm of another living being. And it isn’t just something we experience with animals. We do it with people too. A calm voice, a warm hug, sitting beside someone who makes you feel safe, being listened to without judgement, these things can all help us feel more settled.

Humans are social beings. We were never really designed to regulate everything completely on our own.

But sometimes we’ve spent so long coping alone that being with another person can actually feel difficult. We might not know what we need. We might not trust people easily. We might feel overwhelmed by closeness, or not even realise how much we’re carrying until we finally slow down. That’s why co-regulation can be such an important part of healing, learning what safety feels like, noticing what happens in your body when you are supported, and gradually becoming more able to settle without having to do everything yourself.

And you don’t have to know where to start. Sometimes the idea of looking at your patterns, your body or your emotions can feel scary or confusing. That’s where I can help. Through somatic therapy, mindfulness, meditation and gentle conversation, we can slow things down together and begin to understand what your body has been trying to tell you. No forcing. No having to have all the answers. Just a safe space to start noticing, reconnecting and learning that you don’t always have to hold everything on your own. 🌿

Can't Sleep?

You’re tired, but your mind has other ideas. Going over conversations, planning tomorrow, worrying about things you can’t fix at 2am, or suddenly remembering absolutely everything you forgot to do that day. Sometimes the harder we try to make ourselves sleep, the more awake we become.

Try giving your mind somewhere to put those thoughts. Keep a notebook beside the bed and write everything down: the worries, the to-do list, the things you need to remember. You don’t need to solve anything. Just get it out of your head.

Put your phone down, soften the lights, take a few slow breaths and notice where you’re holding tension in your body.
Let your shoulders drop.
Unclench your jaw.
Feel the weight of your body against the bed.
You’re not trying to force yourself to sleep; you’re showing your body that it doesn’t need to keep doing anything right now.

And sometimes difficulty switching off isn’t just about sleep. When your body has become used to being on alert, it can be difficult to truly settle, even when everything around you is quiet.

This is where somatic therapy and mindfulness can help. We work with the body as well as the mind, learning to recognise what you’re carrying, understand your patterns and create a greater sense of safety and calm within yourself. If you’re tired of feeling like your mind never switches off, we can work together to help you feel more settled in yourself, not just at bedtime, but throughout your life. 🌿

🍂 Can you feel it?

The mornings are a little cooler, the evenings are drawing in and the garden is slowly changing its colours. There’s something beautiful about bringing a little more of nature indoors too, gathering flowers, lighting candles, opening the windows to that cooler autumn air, making our homes feel warm and cosy. Nature doesn’t resist the change of season. It simply moves with it. And perhaps we can do the same.

Because we have seasons too. There are times when we want to grow, explore and say yes to everything, and times when something in us quietly asks for change, rest or a different direction. You might find yourself feeling more reflective lately, questioning what you want, what no longer fits, or simply feeling that something inside you is shifting before you can quite put your finger on what it is. You don’t always have to understand the change immediately. Sometimes you just need a little space to listen to yourself.

If you’re moving through a change in your own life and finding it difficult to understand what you’re feeling or where you’re going next, this is something I can help you explore. Through gentle conversation, somatic work, meditation and reflection, we can slow things down and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, giving you space to reconnect with yourself and find your next step. 🌿

What if the parts of yourself you try hardest not to look at are actually trying to tell you something? This is where shadow work comes in.

Shadow work isn’t about digging up everything that’s ever happened to you.

It’s about becoming curious about the parts of yourself you’ve learnt to hide, suppress or push away.

The anger you don’t feel you’re allowed to have.
The needs you learnt were “too much.”
The people-pleasing.
The jealousy.
The fear of being rejected.

These parts don’t appear from nowhere.

Often, somewhere along the way, we learnt that certain feelings, needs or behaviours weren’t safe, acceptable or welcome.

So we adapted and those adaptations can stay with us long after we actually need them.

Shadow work helps us start noticing them.

We look at the patterns that keep repeating.
The reactions that seem bigger than the situation.
The things that trigger us.
The beliefs we carry about ourselves.
And sometimes, we sit with truths that aren’t particularly comfortable.

Because when you begin to understand yourself rather than constantly trying to fix yourself, something starts to change. You can begin to separate your real self from the layers you’ve built to survive, belong, please, protect or cope.

Through conversation, reflection, meditation and carefully chosen questions, I help you look at the parts of yourself that may be difficult to sit with and understand what they’re actually telling you.

The goal isn’t to get rid of your shadow. It’s to know yourself well enough that you no longer have to hide from it.

🌿 If you keep finding yourself stuck in the same patterns, reacting in ways you don’t understand, or feeling like you’ve lost touch with who you really are, shadow work might be somewhere worth exploring.
