Congratulations to Fern House Surgery in Witham and Central Basildon Primary Care Network, who have been shortlisted for the General Practice Awards 2026 for their work improving diabetes care. 👏

Both teams are helping local people get the care and support they need. Fern House has worked closely with patients to help them feel more confident managing their diabetes, while Central Basildon’s one-stop clinics make it easier to complete several essential checks in a single appointment.

It’s great to see their hard work recognised nationally. We wish both teams the best of luck at December’s awards!

Super Bodies is a winter wellness initiative designed to give parents, carers, and pregnant individuals simple, trusted information about:

Children’s flu vaccinations 👶
Essential vaccines during pregnancy 🤰
Managing common winter illnesses 🌡️

We know you want the best protection for your family. Routine winter vaccinations are the safest and most effective way to shield your children and unborn babies from preventable illnesses.

🎨 Making Vaccination Appointments Fun for Little Ones!
We know that coming in for a jab can sometimes feel a bit scary for young children. To help create a positive, relaxed experience, we now have special Super Bodies resources in our clinic:

Super Bodies Colouring Sheets: A fun distraction to help calm any nerves in the waiting room.

"I have boosted my Super Body" Certificates: A proud reward for your brave little ones to take home after getting their flu vaccine!

Please note that the dispensary will be closed for queries throughout the day on Thursday 17 September.

If you normally collect your medication from the dispensary, you will still be able to collect your medication from the dispensary window as usual.

Please be aware that the dispensary team will be unable to deal with any queries on this day.

☕💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning – Tomorrow! 💚☕

A little reminder that our Macmillan Coffee Morning is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September, from 9:30am–11:30am in the downstairs waiting room at the surgery.

Everyone is welcome to pop along for a cuppa, some cake and a chat! 🍰☕

Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer, as well as their families and loved ones. Their work helps people through what can be an incredibly difficult time, making sure no one has to face cancer alone. 💚

Whether you have been affected by cancer yourself, are supporting someone who has, or simply want to come along and support this fantastic cause, we'd love to see you.
