CKD + You = ?

Receiving a chronic kidney disease (CKD) diagnosis can leave you with lots of questions. What does it mean for me? What happens next? Where can I turn to for support?

That’s where CKD Connect comes in.

We’re hosting a free educational webinar on Wednesday, 25th November where you can hear from kidney health experts and people living with CKD about managing the condition and finding the support you need.

We’ll explore practical ways to look after your kidney health, where to find trusted information, and the questions you may have following a diagnosis.

Find out more and register for the upcoming webinar here: https://www.kidney.org.uk/patient-signup

The CVRM Conference is officially underway and in full swing!

We’re enjoying chatting with attendees at Stand 52, sharing information about the services we provide, including our Helpline and Peer Support Service, as well as offering general information about kidney disease.

We’re also excited to be raising awareness of our new campaign, CKD Connect, and discussing how we can support healthcare professionals, particularly those working in primary care, to recognise CKD at an early stage and also to provide people diagnosed with CKD with clear, reassuring information about their condition.

Have you experienced kidney transplant rejection and are interested in sharing your experience with others?

We're working with a company looking to establish a patient advisory board for adults who have experienced antibody-mediated rejection following a kidney transplant, as well as individuals who provide care and support to these patients.

The project will help increase understanding of patient experiences with kidney transplant rejection and inform the development of patient-focused programs, resources, services, and future initiatives for this condition. We are not recruiting participants for a clinical trial.

Participation in the global standing patient advisory board will consist of up to 3 virtual meetings (each lasting 2 hours). These will take place over a one-year period. The first meeting is planned for November 2026 (exact date/time to be determined). Participants who are eligible and attend the meetings will be compensated for their time.

If you are interested in participating in this opportunity or have any additional questions, please contact:

If you will be attending, come and say hello at Stand 52 — we’d love to connect, catch up and chat about all things kidney.

We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new people and seeing what the next couple of days bring!

We warmly welcome Dr Zubir Ahmed MP as the new Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Kidney Group (APPKG).

The APPKG brings together MPs and Peers to raise awareness of kidney disease, champion the needs of people affected by it, and help ensure kidney health remains firmly on the parliamentary agenda.

As a former transplant surgeon and Health Minister, Dr Ahmed brings valuable insight into the challenges facing the kidney community and the changes needed to improve care and outcomes.

We look forward to working with him to drive progress and make sure the voices of people affected by kidney disease are heard in Parliament.
