Some of my patients invest in their skin and skip the one step that protects all of it. If your daily SPF is a tiny dot on a fingertip, it isn’t enough — the dose that actually protects is around two finger lengths for the face and neck, every morning.
Cream can be measured in Finger‑Tip‑Units (FTUs): a line of product from the tip to the first crease of your index finger. One FTU covers an area roughly the size of the palm of the hand. For SPF, more is better — under‑dosing is the most common reason protection doesn’t work as expected.
It’s a small habit that makes a big difference to long‑term skin health.
And here’s the part most people don’t realise: UVA rays stay at around 85% of their summer intensity even at the winter solstice, and they pass straight through cloud and glass. That’s why SPF is essential all year round — not just on bright days.
SPF supports every serum, every treatment and every result you’re working towards. No product outruns unprotected sun.
Before you book anything, check what you’re already using — especially your SPF dose.
