Growing a business I’m proud of while being a mum is something I’ll never take for granted 🥹

I’m so blessed that I get to build a life where both are possible.

A little reminder than you can be ambitious, love your career & still want to be the best mum 🤍

My One Pass Blush doing what it does best 😍

Beautiful, even colour, soft definition & a gorgeous finish WITHOUT repeatedly working over the same area.

My One Pass Blush technique is all about working smarter. Understanding the tissue, controlling pigment implantation & knowing exactly what you’re trying to achieve with every movement.

Because a beautiful fresh result is one thing, but how those lips HEAL is what really matters 👄

There’s a reason behind EVERY decision I make during a lip blush treatment 👄

After 10 years in PMU, one of the biggest things I’ve learnt is that understanding WHY you’re doing something is just as important as knowing how to do it.

My One Pass Blush technique isn’t about working faster or cutting corners.

It’s about working methodically, with intention & precision to achieve beautiful results without unnecessary trauma ✨

PMU artists, which stage of lip blush would love to feel more confident with? Let’s chat in the comments 👇🏼

Being qualified doesn’t mean you automatically have every aspect of lip blush completely figured out 😌

And that’s completely okay! 🤍

After 10 years in PMU, one thing I know for certain is that understanding the WHY behind your technique is just as important as knowing HOW to perform it.

If any of these sounds familiar, I can guarantee you’re not alone. Let me know in the comments which one you find yourself struggling with the most 👇🏼

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt over my 10 years in PMU is that more passes don’t necessarily mean more saturation or better pigment retention 👀

Having a real understanding of how the lip tissue responds, recognising when it’s had enough & knowing how to work WITH the tissue rather than against it is what makes all the difference ✨

These are things I’ve learnt through years of experience & it’s why I’m so passionate about helping other artists understand the WHY behind their technique, rather than simply following the steps they’ve been taught.

Because ultimately, it’s not just about how your lip blush looks on the day. it’s about how it HEALS 👄

PMU artists, if you’ve ever experienced this, tell me what happened in the comments 👇🏼

From cleaning toilets in a care home to teaching PMU artists across the UK 🥹

If you’d told 19 year old me that this is where I’d end up, I don’t think I’d have believed you.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learn over the last 10 years as a permanent makeup artist, it’s that you never stop learning in this industry 🤍

I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, but helping other artists grow in their confidence, knowledge & skills has become of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Something I want every artist to know, is that you don’t need to have all the answers just because you’ve got the qualification 😌

There’s always room to learn, refine & become better at what you do.

I’d love to know, what’s something you still struggle with as a PMU artist when performing treatments? 👇🏼

Pigment choice should never be a case of simply picking a colour your client likes from a bottle 🫣

As PMU artists, we need to be looking at what’s already in front of us, natural lip pigmentation, undertones, the condition of the tissue, lifestyle factors & how that individual client is likely to heal.

Because the colour you implant isn’t necessarily the colour you’ll get once healed.

Understanding why a pigment behaves differently from client to client is what takes you from simply following a formula to actually making informed decisions as an PMU artist 🤍

This is exactly the kind of knowledge I teach inside my Lip Blush Masterclass, so you can stop second guessing your pigment choices & understand what you’re actually looking at before you even pick up your machine.

Want the details? DM me “MASTERCLASS” and I’ll send everything over 💌

A very exciting new addition to April Louise SPMU… 👀🤍

I’d love you all to meet Scarlett, my new Junior PMU Artist! 🤩

After months of trying to squeeze everyone in & struggling to keep up with the amount of you wanting brow appointments, I knew it was time to grow the team.

Scarlett will be taking on new brow clients, meaning more availability without compromising on the quality, care & experience I’ve built April Louise SPMU around ✨

She trained in brows back in 2022 & has since worked for Benefit & now Charlotte Tilbury, so it’s safe to say… this girl knows brows 👏🏼

But more importantly, she genuinely cares about making every client feel listened to, comfortable & completely looked after, which is exactly how I want things done in my studio.

You know I wouldn’t trust just anyone with my clients or my name, so I’m SO proud to have Scarlett joining me 🥹🤍

And make sure you give her a follow scarlettpoppy.browz because I can’t wait for you to see just how INCREDIBLE she is! 🤩
