I have done a lot of things while being absolutely convinced I couldn't do them.
Handstands.
Pull-ups.
Walking into the weights section of a gym.
Writing a book.
Sometimes I still stand in front of a bar and have a very enthusiastic internal conversation about all the reasons the next rep isn't going to happen.
Self-belief hasn't made those conversations disappear.
What it has given me is the ability to recognise them.
To feel the fear, question what it's telling me and decide what I want to do next.
Sometimes that means taking the step.
Sometimes it means changing the plan.
And sometimes it means giving myself a little more time.
I don't have to know that something will work before I try.
I can trust myself to figure things out as I go.
Even if the first attempt is a spectacular pancake (iykyk).
