Today, people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives, build loving relationships, have HIV-negative children, and achieve their dreams. HIV does not define a person's future.

When someone living with HIV is on treatment and maintains an undetectable viral load, they cannot sexually transmit HIV to their partner. That's the power of U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable).

Let's replace myths with facts, stigma with support, and fear with understanding. ❤️

PANCAP, in collaboration with the Vía Libre Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Learning Hub, brought together civil society and community representatives in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to help shape priorities for the next Caribbean Multi-Country Funding Request. This is particularly significant as Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) represents the final Global Fund HIV allocation for the Multi-Country Caribbean.

Under the theme “Ensuring Meaningful Community Engagement in Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 – Caribbean Multi-Country Project,” the consultation opened with remarks from Mr Marcos Mayer, Global Fund Grant Portfolio Manager; Dr Wendy Telgt-Emanuelson, PANCAP Director; and Mr Ivan Cruickshank, Executive Director of CVC, with Dr Shanti Singh-Anthony, PANCAP Knowledge Management Coordinator, serving as workshop facilitator.

Over two days, participants focused on community priorities, results-based funding, transition and sustainability, and ensuring that community voices remain central to the Caribbean HIV response beyond Global Fund financing.

Dr Wendy Telgt-Emanuelson, Director of the PANCAP Coordinating Unit, presented the Implementation Plan and Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for the Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework (CRSF) 2026–2030 at the Fifty-Third Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) in Washington, D.C. Both plans were subsequently endorsed by COHSOD.

The plans provide a practical roadmap for translating the CRSF into action, setting out priority actions, responsibilities and measures for tracking progress across countries and partners.

Dr Telgt-Emanuelson also highlighted how implementation of the CRSF supports the COHSOD theme, “Transforming Caribbean Health: Resilience, Innovation and Regional Action,” by advancing stronger, more integrated and sustainable health responses across the Caribbean.

A regional plan becomes meaningful when it improves people’s lives.

At the 53rd COHSOD – Health meeting In Washington, DC, Ministers of Health endorsed the Implementation Plan for the Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework (CRSF) 2026–2030. It sets out practical actions, responsibilities and timelines to advance the region’s response to HIV, STIs, viral hepatitis and TB co-infection.

The plan brings together seven strategic priorities, including sustainable financing, integrated health services, equitable access to prevention and treatment, stronger community responses, and better use of data to track progress.

What could this look like when implemented successfully? Watch the video and follow Randy’s story, a picture of a Caribbean where people can access the care and support, they need, communities are empowered, and no one is left behind.
