China on film 🎥🎞️ & quotes I’ve saved recently 💭

China, particularly Shanghai, was a reminder of my creative side that’s been hidden a little, or lost a little - the fashion, the weather versatility, the vintage shopping!!!! exploring the city, the parks, so many PEOPLE. I felt curious and creative and the change of scenery to something completely different was so refreshing and confirming that I’ve been living a little… stuck.

Anyway. Highly recommend Shanghai. My favourite place I’ve travelled too!

Expect more film footage too - I’m reigniting my slightly dimmed sparkle & the easiest way for my to do that is through creativity, a new hyper fixation & education 🤓

Okay so this restaurant in Guangzhou wins healthiest restaurant ever award??? When you arrive, they have a one of their medical centers Chinese medicine practitioners give you an assessment, and then he orders your meal for you based on his diagnosis of you.

Apparently I’m too cold ❄️ (is it my resting bitch/sad face??? 😅😬) so he made my special soup really sweet 😅👌🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

What is cool though is that I do have Raynaud’s phenomenon, which means I do feel the cold really easy… so kinda cool he could tell!

Everyone else’s was wildly bitter 😂

Everything in China runs off of AMAPs - if you ever make yourself to Guangzhou, add it to your list. I’ll share the search in the comments. It’s SUCH a unique & cool concept! Like imagine if this was taken on more by other countries (with the same holistic point of view)!!!

A final run in Bali for 2026 before its adventure time! (Don’t hold me too it though, I might be able to squeeze another in) here’s a montage from some of my favourite Bali 2026 running moments ❤️

running in Bali is a ‘create your own adventure’ mission. Runs are humbling, humid & a mix of chaotic & peaceful. When it’s early in the morning, and it’s just me or a friend or two, it feels so calm - kind of surreal. You see how diverse your neighbors livelihoods are; people are working hard whilst you’re doing a potential hard thing, but by choice. ‘Grounding’ one could say. It makes me appreciate how movement is a privilege - it shouldn’t be, but we shouldn’t take it for granted, get too greedy or forget about what else movement can give us other than fitness or a certain look: memories, friendships, conversations that can only happen under slight electrolyte imbalance & drenched in sweat, new ideas, mental quietness, a sense of purpose, fun, MEANING & of course, post run cuddles ❤️🐕‍🦺

Need inspiration to do the hard thing? - a peak into the latest episode with Mikaela Schifferle .

Period recovery was hard; it meant admitting to myself something I was deeply ashamed of, and the opposite of what I thought of myself as.

I was holding onto a body that wasn’t serving me for the life I wanted long-term, and I couldn’t ignore it any more. But I was scared of changing, because weight gain meant I didn’t feel safe in my body anymore. One that I’d protected for so long.

I was at a sticking point & it was becoming too loud to ignore - my missing period HADN’T fixed itself, because I had avoided taking the action I knew I needed. I’d done everything but.

The only way out, is through. ❤️💕
Otherwise, what’s the alternative? Stay trapped? No way. You and I are both worth more than that. If I can, you can.

The full episode can be found on Spotify on Need inspiration to do the hard thing?

Cycle syncing 🩸🩸
The personalization of it makes it sound legitimate, but how does it play out in reality?

Women are not small men. However we are also not fragile, or run off the textbook 28 day cycle. Our hormones are impacted by internal & external factors, but our hormones alone do not have the severe impact on our strength & nutrition as team cycle syncing make it out to be.

Women’s health is nuanced, deeply individual & by blanket statement that during each phase the cycle doing high intense training, or eating more or less carbs/fat can create more confusion & less confidence.

It also assumes that you are ovulating every month (ovulation is the main event that causes the hormones to adjust; your period is a by-product).

What impacts health MOST for women is muscle mass to fat mass & aerobic fitness, enough nutrition & sleep & positive stress management.

Cycle syncing is majoring in the minors & risking inconsistency & lack of stimulus required to build muscle, protect our bones & support a healthy metabolism.

I LOVE that it promotes body literacy, but I don’t love that it creates blanket rules around training & nutrition that make the health & fitness space even MORE confusing than it already is & that it portrays women as sensitive & fragile - when in reality?

We are strong throughout ALL phases - our strength potential isn’t defined solely by our hormonal state.

I’m interested - what are your thoughts? Have you tried it? Share in the comments below.

And if you need a coach that helps quieter the noise & gives a clear plan for YOUR body & goals - head to the link in my bio or DM ‘RISE’ to begin the journey of having the strength, health & confidence all women deserve ❤️

kicking off the Mereren Fest by celebrating 4 years of BALI’S COMMUNITY RUN CLUB 💃🏼🕺🎉 to build a community, it takes a community. as well as people like Fernandes Wijaya , Abdul Aziz Robert Maury mafa & the team at Noema Resort Pererenan ! & every single person that has shown up over the years; once, occasionally or every week!

it’s easy to think you don’t mean much. it’s each to think your presence doesn’t has an impact. especially if you are having a hard time. but it does!!!! when you show up (to anything: work/gym/that friends party you feel like an outcast/helping that person/that thing you agreed to do/ studying/work etc etc) you encourage others to do the same. it makes people believe that if you can do it, so can they.

without community, I wouldn’t be here.

so if you are questioning your why, thinking you don’t have an impact on people, you’re a waste of space etc etc

you mean so much more than you think. ❤️ show up enough, consistently & be PRESENT (that’s KEY: make sure you give back), & you’ll start to see yourself how others see you - which is actually pretty great ❤️💃🏼🕺🏻
