🍂 AUTUMN SEASONAL BALANCE

A morning to pause, breathe and come back to yourself

This season Traditional Chinese Medicine invites us to slow down and turn inward.

Autumn is associated with the Metal element and the Lung and Large Intestine meridians — a time of letting go, creating space, nourishing the breath and preparing ourselves for the quieter months ahead.

Join us for an intimate and peaceful morning designed around these seasonal themes.

Sunday 25th October | 10am
Annagry, Co. Donegal

Your morning will include:

• Welcome & breathwork

A gentle arrival and guided breathing practice to settle the body, quieten the mind and connect with the breath.

• Extended Yin Yoga practice with Aileen

A slow, nourishing practice inspired by the season, with space to soften, release and turn inward.

• Nourishing seasonal refreshments

Time to pause, connect and enjoy warming refreshments in a relaxed setting.

• Acupuncture treatment

A peaceful treatment designed around the Autumn season and its associated meridians, offering time to rest, receive and support your body as it transitions into the new season.

This is a morning for less doing and more being — a chance to step away from the business of everyday life and give yourself some uninterrupted time for rest, reflection and your health.

Ground. Nourish. Restore.

With limited spaces in this intimate setting, early booking is recommended.

I have been kept busy in the clinic recently which I am hugely grateful for 🙏 treating a wide range of conditions and seeing lots of different people.

For this reason, I haven't posted much lately (and not because social media is my least favourite thing to do 🫣).

However, I have been reflecting on something I have been hearing a lot from clients in various ways, which is how lovely it feels for them to simply have the opportunity to lie still for a while.

No rushing
No phone
No list of things to be done

Just time for them to pause in that moment.

It's got me thinking about how rarely we give ourselves space in our everyday lives and how easily our own health and wellbeing can slip down the list.

Perhaps taking time for yourself shouldn't be a luxury. Perhaps it's part of looking after yourself.

So, this post is simply a little reminder to pause, breathe, and consider whether you're giving yourself enough time to rest, reset and take care of your health.

Sometimes, doing nothing for a little while can be exactly what you need

As nature shifts, so do we.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the year is viewed through five seasons. The period from mid-August towards the autumn equinox is known as Late Summer — a season associated with the Earth element and the Spleen and Stomach organ systems.

Late Summer is a transitional time. We begin to move away from the heat, activity and outward expansion of summer — the height of Yang — and towards autumn, when Yin begins to grow and nature gradually turns inward.

It can be thought of as a pause between expansion and contraction: a moment to come back to our centre, ground ourselves and integrate what the fullness of summer has brought before moving into the quieter, more reflective seasons ahead.

In Chinese Medicine, Earth is associated with nourishment, digestion, stability and grounding. It reminds us not only to consider how we nourish the physical body, but also how well we are able to digest and process our experiences.

It is a beautiful time to slow down, reconnect with our centre and prepare body and mind for the seasonal shift ahead.

Join and YogaWith Aileen for our 3rd Seasonal Balance Session.

Bookings are now open. DM to enquire or book.

Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is actually divided into two seasons?

The first is associated with the Fire element and the height of summer, while the second — known as Late Summer — is connected to the Earth element and seasonal transition.

The first summer season is linked to the Heart and Small Intestine meridians — channels associated with joy, connection, circulation, emotional balance and the calming of the spirit.

Following the beautiful response to our Spring Seasonal Balance Session, and are so pleased to return with our Summer Fire Seasonal Balance Session.

Join us for a nurturing morning where you’ll be guided through practices designed to support the Heart and Small Intestine energies during the Fire season.

We’ll begin with grounding breathwork to settle the nervous system, followed by a summer-focused yin yoga practice using long-held shapes to gently open and support the Fire meridians.

After a nourishing break, each person will receive an individual acupuncture treatment designed to regulate and restore balance for the season ahead.

Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the session intimate.

☯️ What is Qi? ☯️

When we talk about Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine, we're talking about the vital energy that helps power your body's functions and keeps you feeling balanced.

When Qi is flowing smoothly, you may notice steadier energy, a calmer mind, better digestion, and less tension in the body.

But when Qi gets "stuck" (often from stress, overwork, or injury), it can show up as tight shoulders, headaches, irritability, bloating, or pain that feels fixed in one spot.

Acupuncture helps encourage the healthy movement of Qi, like creating space for circulation and communication in the body again.

Some treatments focus on gently moving stagnant Qi to release tension, while others may strengthen Qi if you feel depleted or run down.

The goal is always personalised to support your body in finding its natural rhythm of flow, balance, and ease.

New patient appointments expected to resume week beginning 18th May, not April!

Due to a very full schedule at present, the online booking system will be temporarily closed to new patients for the next several weeks.

This decision allows me to focus on providing the highest level of care and continuity to those currently undergoing treatment.

If you would still like to get in touch, I will be maintaining a waiting list behind the scenes through the booking system and will reach out as availability opens.

I truly appreciate your understanding and support, and I am very grateful that the clinic is being used by so many of you and for having the opportunity to support your health and wellbeing.

Thank you, Marie X

and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the fabulous ladies who attended our first Seasonal Balance Session ❤️

We could not have hoped for a lovelier group!

Everything about the Seasonal Balance Session is designed to harmonise the body within the current season.

In TCM, spring pretains to the Wood element, representing growth and renewal. It is a time for nurturing the Liver and Gallbladder systems. Todays event was designed to do just that.

With all Yin movements and acupuncture focused on releasing and harmonising the Liver and Gallbladder, complemented by the nourishing refreshments, which were all based in TCM nutrition to support the seasons organ systems.

We are honestly so grateful for the lovely feedback we have received and can't wait for summer to roll round to run our next Seasonal Balance event!
