💚 What gives you joy?

This is a question I have on my client consultation form, and it’s fascinating to see how many people stop in their tracks when they read it!

They can tell me about their aches and pains, their stress, their symptoms and all the things they’d like to change…… but what gives them joy?🤔

Somewhere along the way, between work, family, responsibilities and the busyness of everyday life, we can forget to make room for the things that make us happy.

It doesn’t have to be big holidays or special occasions. It could be a walk in nature, time spent in the garden, a good laugh with a friend, getting lost in a hobby, or just sitting down enjoying a quiet cuppa!☕

As part of my whole person approach, I think it’s important to remember not just what’s troubling us, but also what makes us fell alive!

So, here’s my question for you today….. WHAT GIVES YOU JOY?

When was the last time you made time for it???

I’d love to hear your answers in the comments! 💚

MONDAY MYTH BUSTING

MYTH: You have to lie completely still during kinesiology.

Not at all!

While some parts of a Systematic Kinesiology session involve lying comfortably on the treatment table, other parts may involve gentle movements or working in different positions.

And to be honest, there have been times when I’ve adapted a treatment for clients who couldn’t lie comfortably on the treatment table, finding alternative positions and ways to work so they could still receive a treatment suited to their needs. 💚

Muscle testing is used as a form of feedback and your session is tailored to you and your individual needs.

If you’re feeling out of balance, struggling with recurring issues or just feel it’s time to give yourself some attention, why not take the first step? Give me a call at Safe Healing Hands to book your kinesiology session and let me help you on your healing journey.

🌸 WORLD MENOPAUSE DAY – Let’s talk about Pain at Midlife 🌸

World Menopause Day is a day to recognise the strength, challenges, and resilience of those going through menopause.

Menopause isn’t just about “hot flashes”! For some women, menopause brings an increase in aches, joint pain, muscle tension and other persistent discomforts. These can affect mood, sleep, energy, and daily life in ways many people don’t expect.

The International Menopause Society is highlighting Chronic Pain at Midlife, reminding us of how important it is to listen to women’s experiences and take their symptoms seriously.

A few things to remember if you are navigating menopause:

• You’re not alone. Many people experience similar symptoms and questions, so don’t be afraid to talk to others about how you are feeling.

• It’s ok to look for help, from medical professionals, support groups or holistic practitioners. You don’t need to struggle with your symptoms, it might take a while to get the right solution for you, but it’s worth the effort.

• Lifestyle choices (sleep, nutrition, movement) matter.

Let’s break the silence, share our experiences and support one another through this stage of life.

“This too shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass!”

Well, that’s one way of looking at it! 😂

Life has a funny way of throwing us the odd curveball.

Some days we’re flying, and other days we’re wondering what on earth we did to deserve this!!!

But here’s your little reminder today: this moment is not forever!!

Take a breath. 😮‍💨 Have a laugh if you can. 😂 Be kind to yourself. 🤗

And if it’s passing like a kidney stone…. Well, I hope it passes quickly!! 😉

Tell me… is today a smooth sailing day or a kidney stone day???

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day 🩵🩷

Today we honour all our little ones who left too soon and all of us who carry their memory in our hearts every day.

Be gentle on yourself today!

Loss like this is deeply personal and often silent. But no one should ever feel alone in their grief.

Lighting a candle at 7pm joins us with others around the world who have experienced this loss, in the Wave of Light, a symbol of love and remembrance that connects us all.

Sending you all lots of love. 🤗❤️

Have you ever wondered why something that works great for one person doesn’t work for you?

We’re all wonderfully different.

Two people can have what looks like the same problem, but their bodies, lifestyles, experiences, stress levels, habits and needs can be completely different.

So why would we expect exactly the same approach to work for everyone?

What helps your sibling or your friend might not be what your body needs.

And sometimes, the thing you think needs attention isn’t necessarily what needs it at all.

With kinesiology, I can use muscle testing as part of the session to explore what may be going on and where your body might benefit from some attention.

So, if you’ve ever thought that there’s something wrong with you because you’ve tried something, and it worked for everyone else, but it didn’t work for you……There isn’t!!!

It’s just that your body is unique and you need something different!

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY

MYTH: Your brain switches off when you sleep.
If only!!

While your body is resting, your brain doesn’t simply clock off for the night and put its feet up with a cuppa.

Your brain stays active throughout sleep, moving through different stages and carrying out some important jobs.

During sleep, your brain is involved in things like:
• Processing information and memories
• Regulating emotions
• Helping prepare you for the next day
• Supporting the body’s natural restoration processes.

And that’s one of the reasons sleep is so much more than simply “doing nothing”.

Sleep isn’t something we should only get when we’ve ticked everything else off our list.

It’s one of the most important ways we look after ourselves.

Your brain may not completely switch off…. But you can certainly give it permission to slow down!!!

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to have an early night – without feeling guilty about it???

WHOLE PERSON APPROACH SERIES

The thyroid is part of your endocrine system. It is a butterfly shaped gland that secretes hormones that influence metabolism, blood calcium levels, growth and body temperatures among other things. It sits at the front of the neck.

• An underactive thyroid is known as hypothyroidism and may result in weight gain, being sluggish, fatigue, brittle nails and being intolerant to cold temperatures.

• An overactive thyroid is known as hyperthyroidism and may result in Grave’s disease, nervousness, hair loss or a rapid heart rate.

Did you know that tension in the teres minor muscle, a shoulder muscle often affected by stress and posture, can be impacted by imbalance in the thyroid? Listen out for the little whispers the body is giving you, it’s amazing what you might learn!!

A little note about appointments…..

I completely understand that sometimes life happens and plans need to change.

To help me manage my appointments fairly and, where possible, offer cancelled spaces to other clients, I have introduced a cancellation and rescheduling policy.

• 24 hours’ notice – no cancellation fee
• Less than 24 hours’ notice – 50% of the booked treatment fee
• No shows or very last-minute cancellations – 100% of the booked treatment fee

Of course, I understand that genuine emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can happen, and I will always use my discretions and treat these situations with understanding.

As a small business, every appointment matters. When you book with Safe Healing Hands, that time is reserved especially for you.

Thank you for respecting my time, supporting my small business and helping me keep appointments available for everyone.

Do you know what your chakras are and what they are related to?

The chakras are energy centres in your body. When the chakras are balanced and open, the body stays healthy and well. Each individual chakra is related to different parts of the body and also emotional and physical aspects of what’s going on in your life.

The 7 chakras are aligned along your spinal column. They are constantly renewing energy in your body. If there is a blockage in one of your chakras, this may affect one or more of the other chakras and eventually cause your body to weaken.

• Root – located at the base of the spine, associated with the colour red, related to security in your life and feeling grounded.

• Sacral – located at upper part of the sacrum, below the navel, associate with the colour orange, related to passion and creativity.

• Solar plexus – located between the navel and bottom of the sternum, associated with the colour yellow, related to your inner strength and confidence.

• Heart – located at the centre of the chest, associated with the colour green, related to love, empathy and hope.

• Throat – located at the throat, associated with the colour blue, related to speaking your truth and communication.

• 3rd eye – located at the centre of the forehead between your eyebrows, associated with the colour indigo, related to your intuition, inner wisdom and focus.

• Crown – located at the top of the head, associated with the colour violet or white, related to universal consciousness, spiritual awareness and being openminded to learning new things.

If you feel that any of your chakras may be out of balance, or you would like to experience how it feels to have all your chakras working well, give me a call for an appointment.
