End of an Era ✨

I’ll be honest, it has taken me a while to post this because I kept crying πŸ˜‚

So here it goes my little goodbye and thank you message. I have now closed my Dublin practice and moved down to Roscommon. While I’m so excited for this next chapter, saying goodbye to my Dublin families was not an easy decision to make and it’s been an incredibly hard few weeks. I want to thank every parent for trusting me in my work and it has been such a privilege to work with you all. I’ll miss the giggles and chats on the stairs! To my family and friends, I wouldn’t be where I am without the incredible support from you all ✨ I look forward to sharing my journey going forward in Roscommon.

Hello, my name is Ciara O’ Sullivan and I am a creative arts therapist. I work with many wonderful neurodivergent children β€” and I know how important it is that others understand them, not just β€œmanage” them. Do you ever feel nervous handing over your child to a new club, teacher, or activity β€” especially when they don’t know what your child needs to feel safe, regulated, and included?

That’s why I created the All About Me Profile – A simple, child-centred profile designed to help teachers, coaches, SNA’s, and after school providers truly see your child for who they are.

After our call, I will create a warm, professional, strengths-based profile for your child that you can:

β€’ Share with school, clubs and family to help support your child in social sessions

Supportive Recommendations
If anything comes up during our session, I’ll also share suggestions and ideas based on my experience as therapist that may help you and your child. Suggestions may be books, courses, or specific therapies.

I received lovely feedback from a parent last week ✨

Therapy plays a big role in child development such as building confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation. In this case, a lot of trust was placed on me, and they put in the hard work coming every week and bringing consistency which is super important in therapy.

I just got a message to say this child did a full day of school on his own today. When a few months ago they weren’t able to go at all. Overall, happier, more confident and their little personality is coming through! Just WOW!

🐾 Ted the Therapy Dog 🐾

This week, our therapy room had a very special visitor β€” my dog, Teddy 🐢 One of the children I work with always asked how Ted was doing, so with permission, Ted came along to meet him in person.

They played, laughed, and even explored emotions together through our Inside Out toys β€” imagining how Ted might feel in different situations. It was a beautiful, gentle way to talk about feelings, and the bond they formed was heartwarming.

There was lots of laughter and cuddles and to be honest it was one of the most memorable moments in my career πŸ₯Ή The child left with more confidence, a big smile, and plenty of Ted stories to share at home. Sometimes, the smallest moments create the biggest connections. πŸ’› It only takes one good adult to make a huge impact on a child’s life but maybe it only takes one good dog πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

And as always, many thanks to the parents who trust me to provide a safe space for their child πŸ’›
