We've researched what men find attractive about women's bodies🫠 (what a time to be alive🙄), but why are so many women still waiting years for answers about their own?

Last week, a group of teenage girls raised the disparities between men's and women's health research during a school workshop. They were already asking questions at 13 years old that we should all be asking!

This isn't just about statistics.

It's about your mum who may have spent decades believing her pain was normal and only now is beginning to realise how her body was truly meant to feel.

Your sister who is still searching for answers.

Your daughter or future daughter who deserves better.

It's about women being dismissed, misdiagnosed, and left to suffer when their symptoms deserve investigation...

💬 Have you or someone you love ever been told your pain was “just part of being a woman”?

Blossom Mum & Daughter Retreat Day - SLIGO 🌸

We’ve been planting the seeds of Blossom for a while now... 🌸

I’m so excited to be bringing Blossom to Sligo, and this one feels particularly special to me. Sligo feels a little like a second home. 🤍

I spent four years studying at St Angela’s, right on the beautiful shores of Lough Gill, so returning to Sligo with Blossom feels incredibly meaningful🫶🏻

This is a gentle, nurturing day for mums and daughters (ages 8–12) to slow down, connect, and navigate this season of change together.

We’ll explore puberty, periods, hormones, and body literacy in an age-appropriate, empowering way, creating space for curiosity, questions, and meaningful conversations.

My hope is that every girl leaves feeling informed, confident, and proud of her body, and every mum leaves feeling more connected and equipped to support her.

🌸 Saturday 8th November
📍 Still Point, Sligo Town
⏰ 11am–3pm
👧🏻 Suitable for girls aged 8–12

Exchange:
✨️€111 - Mum & 1 daughter
✨️€149 - Mum & 2 daughters
*includes workbook, goody bag & nibbles 🌸

Places are intentionally limited to create a relaxed, intimate, and meaningful experience where connection feels natural and no question is too small.

Whether you come on your own, with a sister, cousin, or friend, you’ll be warmly welcomed. 🤍

✨ Places are limited✨️

And if you’re a mum in Sligo or one of the surrounding counties, I’d love for you to join us.

Please share the Blossom love with the mums, daughters, aunties, friends, and families in your Sligo circle 🌸

I’m genuinely so excited for this one.
Sligo holds a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to bring Blossom back to a place that gave me so much all those years ago. 🌿💜

Period pain is common... But debilitating period pain is NOT something to simply put up with!!❤️‍🩹

If you need painkillers to function, experience pain that radiates into your legs or back, vomit, faint, or lose days of your life every month, please don't dismiss it as:
“just part of being a girl.”

These symptoms can have different causes, from the effects of prostaglandins to conditions such as endometriosis. They all deserve to be taken seriously!

🌸 Especially for the girls and teenagers reading this: you don't have to wait until you're older, and you don't have to prove how much pain you can tolerate before asking for help.

✔️Track your symptoms.
✔️Speak to a trusted adult.
✔️Ask your GP for support.

And if you're an adult supporting a young person, listen without minimising their pain. We need to stop teaching girls to endure period pain and start teaching them to understand their bodies.

Save this post and share it with a girl, parent, or educator who needs to hear it.

🩷We leave no stone unturned during school workshops & my mum & daughter retreat days are designed to remove the shame & stigma attached to growing up & changing bodies🌸

Follow to link in my Bio for upcoming retreat days or fill in the enquiry form to book your school workshop today 🌸

💛 Louth/ Monaghan Endometriosis Support Group 🎗

There is a need for more connection and support for women living with endometriosis, awaiting a diagnosis, or wondering if they might have it 🤍

I'm delighted to be bringing women together for our first informal Endometriosis Support Group gathering; a relaxed, welcoming space to connect with others who may understand what you're going through.

📅 Tuesday, 10th November
🕖 7pm - 9pm
📍 The Workhouse, Carrickmacross, A81E372

Come along for a chat, share your experiences if you wish, listen if you prefer, and enjoy a cuppa ☕️

There is no need for a confirmed diagnosis, no pressure to share, and no medical advice. Just connection, conversation, and understanding 💛

As this is our first gathering, we'll take things from here, listen to what women need, and explore how best to support our community going forward.

✨ Booking/registration is required - you can find the booking link in my bio (navigate to Nov 10th on the calendar)

Whether you're living with endometriosis, waiting for answers, or just beginning to question whether you might have it, you are welcome here

Part 2 - What happens after endometriosis surgery?

This is a part of the endometriosis journey I think we need to talk about more: recovery, aftercare, and what happens once you're discharged (because there is nothing).

My surgery left me far more immobile than I ever anticipated. I spent most of my summer flat on my back, struggling to walk and function as I had before.

There was no recovery plan. No guidance on rehabilitation, physiotherapy, or how to get my body moving again. Nothing... sent out into the ethers!!🫠

My follow-up appointment left me with more questions than answers. I was still struggling with no clear pathway for my recovery or ongoing endometriosis care.

This is where my own personal experience becomes part of a much bigger conversation about women's health in Ireland.

We can publish frameworks and make commitments, but are women actually experiencing better care?

Endometriosis surgery shouldn't be the finish line. Recovery and ongoing support are a huge part of the care (it's very obvious that this is missing in so many areas of healthcare).

I'm sharing (part of) my experience because we deserve better aftercare, clearer pathways, and a healthcare system that looks beyond the surgery itself.

Can we stop talking? Stop making empty promises, and actually take action? We constantly fight for healthcare in this country & globally... it shouldn't even be a topic up for discussion.

3 months post endometriosis surgery, and I want to talk about the part we don't always see❤️‍🩹

I generally keep my life offline, and I've kept my life with endometriosis the same. But with so much conversation around women's health lately, I felt it was time to share these next two posts.

I'm incredibly tuned in to my own health and, through my work in my clinic & out on the road, I know how to advocate for myself and understand the system... knowledge does not make you immune to the gaps in healthcare. I am and was still just another number in the system.

We hear about frameworks (its a year since the endo framework was launched🫠), funding and strategies for women's health, but the lived experience can still feel so far removed from them. And when €102 million can be allocated to horse and greyhound racing in the latest Budget, it's hard not to question where women's health sits among our priorities? Make this make sense?🙄

We've also almost normalised endometriosis surgery. The little scars. The “keyhole surgery”. The assumption that minimally invasive means an easy recovery... It's far from the reality of life for so many!

From my own experience of coming around from the anaesthetic & the first thought & questions through the haze being, 'Did you find it?' 'It's not in my head?' checking to see if you have a stoma bag & asking if they had to remove any organs... not basic surgery! And after all of that (plus more), to later on being moved into a ward with just men🙃 our framework is really delivering!!

I've found myself asking, where is & was the support around all of this? This isn't about blaming healthcare professionals, I can only sing praises for the team I had... its the system that surrounds them that still doesn't seem to have worked out what meaningful endo care looks like beyond the theatre.

Because surgery isn't the end.
It's only the beginning of recovery & we are missing so many layers!

Part 2 coming next...

This question was written by a 16-year-old girl during one of my recent workshops, and I’ve thought about it a lot since. It’s one that comes up again and again...

Because there is so much contained within one question!

The reality of what some of these girls are experiencing, and silently living with, is difficult to comprehend and often difficult to leave with after a school visit, because you can see how they are being failed.

🩸Painful or heavy periods. Flooding in class. Exhaustion. Hormonal symptoms. Changes in mood. Missing school, sport and life... the reality for so many teenage girls!

And yet, in 2026, we’re still not doing enough to help girls understand why they may be feeling this way🙃

The pill absolutely does have a place in healthcare. But managing symptoms isn’t always the same as understanding their cause, and it isn’t right for everyone.

We talk so much about health and well-being in schools. But have we really bridged the gap for the thousands of girls sitting in our classrooms who have a menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle isn’t separate from wellbeing!
Hormones and the physical reality of a cycle can have a huge impact on how girls feel, function, learn, sleep, exercise, and experience everyday life.

Girls need more than knowing that a period happens once a month.
🩷They need to understand their bodies, their cycles and hormones; how nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle can support them; what isn’t normal; and, crucially, how to advocate for themselves.

This is why I do this work.
🌸Why I deliver workshops in schools.
🌸Why I create spaces where girls can ask the questions they might otherwise keep to themselves.
🌸And why I host Mum & Daughter Retreat Days.

These conversations shouldn’t be awkward, taboo or something we only have when there is a problem.
Education shouldn’t start when a girl is struggling. It should start much earlier.

I’m back on the road for the 2026/27 academic year, delivering workshops in schools countrywide. If you’re a teacher and would like to support your students with meaningful, age-appropriate menstrual education, get in touch 🌸🩷
