๐ง MENTAL HEALTH FUNDING IS AN INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE.
At MindBridge Medical, we believe access to ADHD and mental-health care should not depend on whether someone can afford private treatment.
Ireland has been developing a public National Clinical Programme for Adult ADHD, with the HSEโs model of care designed to provide comprehensive assessment and evidence-based, multi-modal treatment. The HSE has also identified the need for continued funding and expansion of adult ADHD teams across the country.
But there is still a significant gap between the need for services and the availability of publicly funded care. For many people, private assessment and ongoing care can be financially difficult โ particularly when support may involve assessment, follow-up appointments and medication management. The HSE has itself acknowledged cost as a barrier to accessing ADHD assessment for some adults.
We need to keep building the public pathway โ not lose momentum.
That means continued investment in mental health, continued development of the National Clinical Programme for ADHD, properly resourced multidisciplinary teams, and accessible services for people who cannot afford to pay privately.
๐ At MindBridge Medical, we are advocating for sustained investment in mental health and public ADHD services.
We encourage people who care about access to mental-health and ADHD services to engage with their local representatives and ask how public ADHD services can be properly funded, expanded and sustained.
Because ADHD care should be about access, not ability to pay.
Because timely assessment matters.
Because ongoing support matters.
Because families matter.
Because mental health matters.
๐ฎ๐ช A fairer, healthier Ireland starts with accessible care.
