Today is World Menopause Day, and this year's theme, Chronic Pain at Midlife, is something that particularly resonates with me.
As I've shared in my recent blog, menopause has brought its own challenges, from hot flushes and disrupted sleep to brain fog and emotional changes.
I've also experienced plantar fasciitis, which has made me much more conscious of the importance of looking after my body and paying attention when something doesn't feel right.
One thing I've learned is that we shouldn't automatically accept every ache or pain as simply part of getting older.
And we certainly shouldn't feel that we have to suffer in silence.
Persistent pain deserves to be taken seriously, properly assessed and treated appropriately.
As women, I think we're often very good at looking after everybody else. But we need to extend some of that same kindness and attention to ourselves.
Whether that means speaking with your GP, finding movement that feels comfortable, making time for rest or simply talking openly about what you're experiencing, please remember that your wellbeing matters.
And if there's one thing I'd love us all to take away from Menopause Awareness Month, it's that we need to keep these conversations going.
Every woman's experience is different, and every woman deserves to feel heard and supported.
Earlier this month, I shared my own menopause experience and some of the little things that have helped me.
