🛒 Do you really know what’s going into your trolley? 👀

Our next library nutrition talk is something a little different! 🛒🥦

From supermarket layouts designed to catch our attention, to clever food marketing, confusing labels and the ever-growing conversation around ultra-processed foods, there’s a lot influencing the choices we make before we even reach the checkout.

We’ll take a practical look at supermarket swaps, savvy shopping choices and some top finds - with plenty of tips you can actually use on your next food shop.

On , we’re shining a light on the impact menopause and perimenopause can have on mental health.

Through our work with the All Party Group on Mental Health, AWARE NI has helped gather the experiences of 486 women across Northern Ireland to understand that impact. The findings are stark:

- 62.6% of the women surveyed reported that menopause had a significant or high impact on their mental health
- Brain fog, anxiety, and insomnia were among the most common experiences

But these are not just numbers. They’re real women telling us menopause needs to be taken seriously as a mental health issue – in healthcare, workplaces and communities.

Our report – The Impact of Menopause on Mental Health – makes recommendations for change, including better awareness, training, and support. We’re calling for those voices to be heard and for the evidence to now be translated into action.

So let’s make space to care for ourselves today. Look out for one another, and make sure that no woman feels she has to navigate menopause alone.
