Mind racing? Shoulders up around your ears?
Some days it's all a bit much.
Worry about the to-do list, a low hum of fear about what's ahead, frustration when things aren't going well. When it all piles up, we can end up drained before it's even 10am.
Here's a simple Jin Shin Jyutsu hold to help you settle.
Thumb, index and middle finger hold (as I'm showing in the photo)
* wrap your right hand around the thumb, index and middle fingers of your left hand
* rest your right fingers across the palm side, with your right thumb on the back
* let your little and ring fingers relax
* exhale fully, letting go of the day's tension
* inhale gently, welcoming in fresh energy
* after a few minutes, change hands
In Jin Shin Jyutsu, each finger supports us with a specific attitude:
thumb helps to ease worry
index finger helps ease fear
middle finger helps ease anger and frustration
Holding all three together is a lovely way to quiet a busy mind, soften the tension in your head, shoulders and back, and lift that fatigue.
No equipment, no perfect quiet space. Try it on the couch, at your desk, or as you settle into bed.
Try it out this week and let me know how you feel in the comments.
If you'd like more support, I offer Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments in Maynooth, Ireland and remotely.
