When did you last do something slowly?
Not rushing to the next thing. Not doing it while thinking about something else.
Just doing it. Fully. With your whole attention.
Most of us can’t remember.
We have become very good at moving through our days efficiently. Getting things done. Managing the list. Functioning.
But somewhere in all the efficiency we lost something.
The cup of tea that used to be a moment of stillness has become something we drink standing up over the sink.
The morning that used to begin with something gentle is now a sprint from the alarm to the door.
The evening that used to have some kind of transition. Some signal to the body that the day was done. Now it has became the point where we run out of energy.
We lost our rituals.
And with them, we lost the daily practice of coming home to ourselves.
This month we are sitting with the theme of “Ritual and Routine” where we reclaim the sacred in the everyday.
We’ll explore the difference between a routine and a ritual. We’ll look honestly at what our days currently contain, and what they are missing.
We’ll journal around what we’ve lost and what we want to reclaim. And we’ll build a simple closing ritual together that you can take home and use every single night.
Not a grand overhaul.
Just one small act of devotion to yourself.
