Eye Cream – Essential Or Optional?

Eye cream is not for everybody. After 35 years working with skin, I’ve seen that women tend to age in one of two ways, and which one you are decides whether you need a dedicated eye product.

The Two Ways We Age

Broadly speaking, either the top half or the bottom half of the face shows visible signs of aging first.

Top-half agers (from the nose up)

Lines around the eyes
Hollowness around the eyes
Flatness through the cheek area
Bottom-half agers

Lines and loss of volume around the mouth
Changes along the jawline
Early signs of aging on the neck

Training Week 2026 – My Highlights

I have recently spent our annual training week with my mentor, Lone Sorensen, and 45 therapists from around the world, who work in neuro reflexology and a range of other disciplines. It is always my favourite week of the year.

We spend it catching up on the latest research so that our skills stay as current as possible. We also practise treatments on each other and learn a great deal from one another. And of course, we have a lot of fun. It may or may not be true that my favourite part is the ice cream 😁.

This year’s topics were varied and fascinating. See the highlights and read what is coming soon to my treatment room in my latest newsletter ⬇️

I've been training - can't wait to show you

Have you seen our Crystal Chakra Bed in the treatment room yet?

This beautiful crystal canopy offers a gentle yet powerful way to support chakra balancing, deep relaxation, and emotional well-being here at Skin Essentials by Mariga.

Benefits include:
✨ Deep relaxation
✨ Subtle energy alignment
✨ Clearing blockages that may lead to emotional or physical imbalances
✨ Support in breaking emotional triggers and patterns
✨ Enhanced reflexology results
✨ Strengthening of your aura (electromagnetic field)

Why choose Crystal Chakra Balancing?
Our emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing all influence the energy field that surrounds us. Over time, life experiences and stress can create blockages in our energy centres (chakras). The specially charged crystals within the canopy work at specific frequencies to gently restore harmony, balance, and flow throughout the body, mind, and aura.

How it can be enjoyed:
✨ Combined with reflexology or Japanese Facelift (add-on: approx. 30 minutes)
✨ Integrated into emotional balancing, grounding, or trauma therapy (no extra time required)
✨ As a stand-alone deeply restorative session – simply relax under the canopy and let the energy do the work

No need to remove clothing or makeup—just shoes, jewellery, and belt.

Set your intention. Relax. Restore.

Always in my top 3 for long-term skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing: expert microneedling.
Three things combine to make any advanced skin treatment the best you can get – education, experience and equipment choice.

At Skin Essentials By Mariga I apply this to all my treatments and leave no stone unturned in bringing you the best possible skincare.

A great example is our microneedling services. Microneedling continues to be one of the most effective, safe and universally suitable treatments available for those who want to improve the quality, texture and refinement of their skin.

From the many options available on the market, my years of experience have lead me to partnering with AimeaMed for our equipment needs. This is the best machine I have found in terms of customisable options, consistency of treatment and standards. It gives the fastest and most comfortable treatment with less downtime than any other system I have tried (and I’ve tried a lot!).

The key to undemanding the best treatment option for an individual client is in a comprehensive education and understanding of everything that is happening in the skin before, during and after treatment. I have studied skin science extensively over the years and for my microneedling education I travelled to Phoenix, Arizona to take the advanced microneedling class with global leader in the subject of cosmetic needling, Dr. Lance Setterfield. It was so worth the long journey and investment and remains one of the best classes I have ever taken in the skincare industry, elevating my needling treatments to enable me to super-customise for each and every individual skin concern from anti-ageing to scar reduction.

A commitment to ongoing advanced education and 30+ years of skincare experience allows me to continue to uplevel, innovate and bring you the best and latest natural anti-ageing and corrective skincare.

Book your advanced microneedling treatment with me here via the online booking link in bio, or message me if I can help you out with any questions.
