A NEW CHAPTER IN EYE CARE, ONE COMMUNITY AT A TIME.

Access to quality eye care should never depend on how far someone lives from a hospital.

Through Project DISHA, KD Foundation is bringing essential eye care closer to rural communities. On 9th October, the birth anniversary of the late Smt. Kusumben Dhirajlal Desai, we inaugurated our first KD Vision Centre in Jotana, followed by our second centre in Chanasma on 12th October.

What do these centres offer?

🔹 Eye check-ups, refraction and screening
🔹 Teleconsultations with KD Eye Centre doctors
🔹 Referrals for further investigations and surgery

Eye care services are provided at no cost, with spectacles available at the base rate.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Shri Jotana Sarvajanik Davakhana Trust, Dr N. P. Patel General Hospital, Jotana, the Shri Mahendrabhai Desai family, Pujya Jairamgiri Bapu, the Nagarpalika President, Sarpanchshris, trustees and local dignitaries for their support. A special thanks to our team for making both launches possible within four days.

And this is just the beginning!

By June 2027, Project DISHA aims to establish 25 Vision Centres across rural Gujarat, bringing accessible eye care closer to more communities.

Celebrating joy, culture, and togetherness. 💙🦚

KD Foundation, in collaboration with Shwas Foundation, celebrated Janmashtami Mahotsav with 70 children at the New Ranip Centre.

From dressing up as Kanaiya and Radha to listening to the story of Krishna Janma and enjoying Garba together, the celebration was filled with joy, enthusiasm, and beautiful moments. Prasad and chocolates added even more smiles to the occasion.

The event reflected the values of inclusion, equality, diversity, and social harmony, bringing children together on one platform to celebrate India’s rich and diverse cultural traditions.

Some celebrations go beyond traditions. They bring people together. 💙

This Rakshabandhan, KD Foundation celebrated the festival with around 200 children from Grades 1 to 8 at the Deaf and Mute School, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.

The celebration became a beautiful reflection of unity, harmony, and inclusiveness, with children from different communities coming together to share the joy of the occasion. The girls tied Rakhis on the boys’ wrists and wished them happiness, good health, and well-being.

More than a festival, it was a meaningful reminder that compassion, friendship, and togetherness can connect us all.

Bringing quality eye care closer to the community. 👁️💙

KD Foundation successfully organised a Project DISHA Eye Care Camp in Himmatnagar as part of the birthday celebration of Mr Prafulbhai Patel, in collaboration with Sad Vichar Parivar, Himmatnagar, and the local Yuva Group.

A total of 322 patients were examined, with 26 patients identified for surgery and 10 patients referred for further treatment.

Our dedicated team and optometry students contributed to the patient screening and smooth ex*****on of the camp.

The camp was also honoured by the presence and support of community leaders, local representatives, sarpanches, social workers, and other distinguished guests.

Together, every screening brings us closer to reducing avoidable blindness and making quality eye care accessible to more communities.

A CLEARER VISION BEGINS WITH A SIMPLE CHECK-UP.

At Khoraj Village, 280 individuals took an important step towards better eye health through our eye check-up camp.

27 were identified for cataract surgery, while 7 were referred for further treatment, turning early detection into an opportunity for timely care.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Shri Jashubhai Patel and everyone who extended their support and cooperation to make the camp a success.

Because better vision can mean a better life.

Bringing the gift of better vision closer to the community.

As part of Project Disha, a Free Eye Check-up Camp was organised at Detroj in association with the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, bringing quality eye care closer to the community.

We were honoured by the gracious presence of Shri Hardikbhai Patel, Hon'ble MLA, Viramgam, whose encouragement added immense value to the initiative.

A total of 161 individuals underwent eye screening. After the examinations, 19 patients were selected for cataract surgery, while 2 patients were referred for further medical evaluation to ensure they receive timely and appropriate care.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Sarpanch of Detroj, the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation, and everyone who contributed to the successful organisation of this camp. Together, we continue to make quality eye care accessible to those who need it most.

As Project DISHA completes 4 inspiring years, we proudly mark another significant milestone with the launch of the KD Vision Centre.

With a mission to make quality eye care more accessible, closer to every community, this initiative continues to bridge the gap between people and specialised eye care services. Our commitment represents to early diagnosis, timely treatment, and preserving the gift of sight for countless individuals.

This is more than an expansion. It is a promise to continue transforming lives through accessible, compassionate, and advanced vision care.
