A small step towards a truly integrated disability & healthcare ecosystem.

Today, the Lets Help India team met Mr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, CEO, National Health Authority, to request linkage of UDID with ABHA ID.

Why it matters: a parent of an autistic child should not have to shout in an emergency room that their child has autism, as they often do today. And when the parent is no longer there, the health record should be able to speak for the child or adult in need.

This can also create continuity of health records, reduce repetitive documentation, and give a more connected understanding of the healthcare and disability-related needs of persons with disabilities.

We hope this policy conversation translates into a seamless, interoperable system—one that puts the person, not paperwork, at the centre.

We are grateful for the opportunity to meet Shri Mahendra Pandey Ji, National Office Secretary, BJP, at the National BJP Office Delhi and receive his valuable guidance on the roadmap for autism policymaking in India.

He shared thoughtful guidance on how we can contribute our ideas and recommendations towards Budget 2027, and also expressed enthusiasm and support for the vision of a *National Autism Program*.

We deeply appreciate his time, encouragement and openness to strengthening policy and support systems for autistic individuals and their families across India.

It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Mallikarjuna Iytha, a prominent social entrepreneur and disability rights advocate, for an insightful discussion on autism awareness and advocacy.

We discussed several important areas, from empowering and enabling parents and families, sensitising society, to strengthening policy and systemic support for the challenges faced by autistic individuals.

A meaningful conversation towards building a more aware, inclusive and supportive society.

Gulmohar Park RWA, in collaboration with Lets Help India (Autism Parents Forum), has signed an MoU to promote awareness, inclusion and meaningful participation of autistic children, persons with disabilities and their families in community life.

Because inclusion doesn’t begin only in schools or institutions, it begins where children live, play, interact and grow. 🌱

Here’s to building communities with greater understanding, empathy and dignity. 🤝

Strengthening Protection for Special Needs Families

Met with Ms. Manisha Singh, ADCP Women Safety & Cyber Safety, Gautam Budh Nagar, to share details of an organised scam targeting families of children with special needs, involving claims of “miracle” alternative cures.

As part of "Operation Aparajey", we discussed the need for greater awareness and vigilance to protect vulnerable families from such fraudulent practices.

Deeply grateful to ADCP Manisha Singh for the prompt action promised to alert police personnel across Gautam Budh Nagar and sensitise malls and other public spaces about this modus operandi.

Together, we can build safer, more informed and inclusive communities for persons with disabilities and their families.
