Interesting CECT Abdomen & Pelvis Case
A challenging case of a large right adnexal mass in a young female, where CT played an important role in identifying not only the primary lesion but also its secondary effects.
The lesion was associated with altered ovarian vascular anatomy and a mild twisting appearance of the vascular pedicle, raising suspicion for possible torsion. The sizeable mass was also producing extrinsic compression of the right ureter, resulting in hydronephrosis and mild hydroureter.
What makes this case interesting is how the combination of lesion morphology, vascular pedicle changes, and secondary urinary tract obstruction can provide important clues toward the underlying pathology.
Cases like this are a good reminder that in CT interpretation, the findings around a lesion can be just as important as the lesion itself.
π Every case is an opportunity to learn something new.
